Yes I tasted it. I know that a lot of people love it (specially australian) but I don't like it. Sorry to say that but really it is terrible for me. I can't eat it at all. I bought during my travel to try again... but really I can't eat.

My ex husband used to tell me, never to even think about buying a jar of vegemite. Apparently for the entire 10 years he spent at school, he took vegemite and kraft cheese sandwhiches to school everday. No wonder he'd shudder when we went down the isle's at the shops that had vegemite on the shelf.....

I've never tasted or heard of vegemite. May I ask what the ingredients are? What does it taste like? People say it's an acquired taste. In a taste comparison to what? I'm just curious....thank you :-)

omg! i used to get given cheese n vegemite sandwiches as a kid all the time and loved it...i still like my vegemite though usually i only have a thin scraping on toast or under a poached egg on toast...sometimes i prefer a bit more though. it is definately an acquired taste though and it doesnt exactly look the best lol... i guess to many, its something that seems to fascinate into wanting to try something different though i do know many aussies who dont like it.

Ahh Vegemite - the classic Australian Icon! I hate the stuff personally. I find it too salty to put on toast, but it's great for adding a boost to other things like stews etc, really adds a bit of flavour. lol

Yes I have tasted vegemite and I like it most Australians love their vegemite and it is horrible when you go to another country and they do not have any vegemite to put on their toast it is also good for flavouring in your gravy. If you were brought up on vegemite you would love it but I can tell you were, but all people are different and I ralize this, but you must have some things in your country which Australians would not like too!!

vegemite is a thick paste that resembles liquid boullion, very salty but can be used as a soup base. vegemite comes from australia..

I think it is best on toast. The trick is not to put too much on. When you put it on toast you can also put some strips of cheese on it and then melt it under the grill. When i was working in the US I always ordered it from http://www.ozemartdirect.com and it came a matter of days.
