Everyone loves potatoes, what's your favorite pick? Can't think of anything that potatoes are good for? Here's a short list ... mashed potatoes, twice backed potatoes, hash browns, potato pancakes, french fries, potato chips, potato fritters ... and the list goes on! As you can tell, tater tots are my personal favorite, what's yours?

My favorite way to have a potato... Hmm... that's to hard for me to answer. I love tater tots, preferrably cooked in the skillet but the oven and microwave are good too. I also enjoy homemade mashed potatoes but instant taste OK too if you add garlic salt and a little butter. Sometimes I like making them with some cheese mixed in. But what I really wish I had right now is a potato pankcake. I haven't had one of those in ages.

Hi ya, I've never heard of Tater Tots!! Sounds nice though. Mash potatoes are my favourite specially with really thick gravy over the top! Next would be french fries then hash browns!

Tater tots looks like tubes, if you fry them the outsides get nice and crunchy. Don't worry, until I moved to the States I had no idea what tater tots were, the first time I heard the term I thought they were talking about someone's kids ... that is until they said that they liked them covered in ketchup LOL

I love potatoes. Tator tots are my favorites. They are so good slathered in so much ketchup or BBQ sauce. I like McDonald's hashbrowns too.

Carls Jr. in SoCal had the most amazing has browns; they were 1/3 the size of the regular tater tots and deep fried; throw some salt on them and load them up with ketchup and you could make a meal out of them.

I am doing a low carb diet so I can't have anything with sugar, no bread or potatoes .. none of the good stuff. It's a good bet that when I have a cheat day, I am going to totally pig out on these!

You're right, I think everybody does love potatoes. It's hard to decide which kind is my favorite. There are so many great ones to choose from. Hash browns and twice baked potatoes are probably of my favorites, with tater tots coming in close behind. But then, I don't think I've ever met a potato I didn't like.

LOLOLOLOL... Your last line was part of a joke someone told me. Why was Mrs. Potato Head considered a little on the easy side? On her box it says, 'I never met a potato I didn't like' Muahahahaha LOL

Actually, I'm probably the only person in the world who isn't overly fond of eating potatoes. I like them best crispy in hash (not like hash browns), or mashed with gravy. Or baked and filled with delicious toppings. But I will not eat any potato that isn't cooked through and soft. They can be so bland sometimes.

I guess everyone has their own way of eating them, you must be a potato skin person if you like to add a lot of stuff to them ... interesting :]

When I was reading about tater tots I saw that the southern USA consumed more than the rest of the states. I wonder who really started making them, there are so many different versions online of who actually came up with the idea and the name for them.

Fries are my favorite, but I'll take them almost any style. Hash browns are always good with breakfast.

I adore has browns but not with onions. When we hit this small local diner I always order them without onions and it really seems to irk the cook LOL

Wow, you really do like potatoes!!! I like to boil them then dice them up, fry them and add them to a salad, at least that way I don't feel too guilty about consuming all those carbohydrates!

Ahhh Mickey D's fries are so good when they are steaming hot, right out of the fryer. If you want to get a fresh batch tell them you want them with no salt on them so they'll make fresh ones. Sure that is a pain for them but if you are paying almost two bucks for a large fry, you might as well get fresh hot ones!

i can eat potatoes any way. i love them baked, fried, grilled, mashed, boiled, sauteed, ect. i love them mixed with anything and plain. we eat some sort of potato every night. if i had to choose a favorite i would go with the traditional mashed potatoes. i could eat a whole pot full by myself. infact i had some just a few minutes ago for dinner.

Have you ever tried twice baked potatoes? Basically you do them up like a baked potato then cut them in half, core out the inside of the potato, add chedder cheese to it then put it back in the skin and pop it under the broiler. Add a little milk to it when you are mixing it, that makes it nice and creamy but since you are putting it under the broiler, the top gets nice and crunchy.

Any form of potato is good but I am fond of tater tots. And potato pancakes (latkes) are fantastic!

My friends grandmother made latkes all the time, I always wanted the recipe but she'd never share. When I would make them it always seemed like there was something missing from them.

Definately tater tots. Especially when they are cooked in a deep fryer and get really brown and crispy.

I really like potatoes a lot. My favorite ways to eat them though are tater tots fried in oil, mashed potatoes with butter and salt, McDonald's french fries, potato salad, potato pancakes, in soups and stews, potato chips, and a skillet full of fried potatoes at home.

a picture of deep fried potato croquettes I enjoye - a picture of deep fried potato croquettes I enjoyed as a kid
When I was a kid growing up in Scotland, my favorite was alaways potato croquettes. They are like a larger version of tater tots, deep fried and the potato filling was always very light and fluffy...I've added a picture of them which has, unfortunately, led to me licking my monitor...LOL

Tater Tots are pretty darn good, but a potato knish is pretty great too! I like all sorts of potatoes, and it kind of depends ont he meal that's going with it as to what is my favorite. With meat dishes (like turkey or roast) I like mashed (real ones of course) With hamburgers I'll go for fries With fish I might go with a baked one or fries I like the potato skins as an appetizer Potato chips are great for munching on . . . You know it's like really hard to say which is my favorite! lol

My favourite has always been mashed tatties even when I was a kid and all my kids love mashed tatties as well, dry mashed if we are having a good gravy with them or creamed if they are to go with something like sausages and beans. It was always dry mashed when I was a kid as my dad didn't like creamed due to getting really sloppy ones when he was a teenager doing his national service.

It's hard to pick. McDonald's fries, In and Out burger fries, KFC fries are good as well. McDonald's also has good hash browns, crispy on the outside and soft inside. Tater tots are good once in a while. Isn't it the same with hash browns almost? Just a different shape?
