I write for two different Content Websites as a freelance writer.

Me - A toast to the "published author"

I have been writing articles and essays for two different content websites one since December, Helium and then the other I have b een submitting articles to since January of this year In just over 2 mos I have earned $2.67 from Helium. In a month and a week I have earned $17 from Associated Content for four of the ten articles that I have recently submitted to them. I submit the same articles to both as non exclusive content. Though I have to admit I just get a charge out of being an officially "Published Author" with my name on the bylines of all of the content that I create. I truly enjoy these small income producing and artistically gratifying sites that allow you to share the contents of your head and your heart. (Believe me I am just happy that when I submitted my articles I was happy just to have them not returned to me with deprecating commentary from the the sites saying that they couldn't use my articles!.) Even though I am working on a college degree as my "backup plan" what I want is ultimately to become an author. Of congtemporary articles (which is what I am writing now.) and shorts stories and research essays (when they must be done for my degree program) They even publish these! WOW!

I love writing for AC and getting published and paid. It means a lot to me because I really enjoy writing and wouldn't mind actually being a writer full time, and right now, I technically I am. I made over $100 last month from AC and I'm hoping to make about the same this month.

Nice to know you. This is amazing but sadly associated content does not accept outside USA writers, helium I have not checked yet. I alos write poetry and small articles but never got them published yes one got published uears back but then I didn't even tried to get them published. few publishers friends of mine even asked for them but I never sent any of my writings, I think you should pursue it as a writer if you are good, I didn't but now I wish I should have. I think I killed the writer in me slowly over the years. I do write but frquency is really less these days. I think I have broken my relationship with the words and now they also do not want to come to me.

I don't think you can break your relationship with words. It's like riding a bicycle. Even if you don't do it for a long time, with a little practice, you can do it again easily. With writing I think that many people just write something and want it to be their best work instantly, and it takes time and rewriting. Good luck and don't give up.

Hi Mansha..I think associated content allows outside the US. I signed up yesterday and I got through...Helium allows only certain countries and I can't get in that.

Glad to meet a budding authour. I have been writing articles as a ghost writer for many Indian service buyers and they paid me pea nuts.I now stopped submitting the articles to these exploiters and am contributing for ezine publishers and free sites to add traffic to my blogs and sites. I know the Associated content is a good pay master but only american authors are accepted. I am not aware of helium and kindly get me the details .By the by you can also try xomba and the link is below. http://www.xomba.com/referral/7777825e It would be nice for you to get a feeling of freelancing at this young age that may help you to become a good copywriter. You may also try bidding copywriting work like articles and e book from get a freelancer.com or freelanceexchange.com etc.good luck.

Hi! Thanks for sharing your experiences with Helium and Associated Content. I just recently started playing around with both of them. I have four articles at Helium that have earned a total of 85 cents in a month and I have 4 articles at Associated Content that are still in the "submitted" phase, so I don't know what the outcome of those will be. You're right, it's just exciting and fun to be published. And its encouraging to me to hear of others experiences with these sites, so thank you!

I just joined AC myself, had my first article accepted for $7, and I have 2 more pending. I also joined helium, but from your earnings it seems safe to say that AC pays much better. Do you know if AC pays less for "non exclusive" content than for exclusive?

How Cool! I would love to do that for a living - or even for a hoot... I'm an excellent technical writer and for many years, had to produce reports suitable for boards of trustees, lawyers, bankers, etc. Now, because of a disability, I can no longer work outside of the home and think what you're talking about sounds fun - even if it is just a few dollars. Can you send me a link or could I just enter the two names you mentioned? Say, final thought - do I need a recommendation or references?

About the links - I just saw them on a comment so I'll use those. BTW - thank you so much for your post. This (writing for fun and money) sounds better than sliced bread.

I think you are really working quite hard. I would like to know more about the programs, I believe they are not for international citizens.

If you want to know, there is another site that pays you like helium and AC. It is called Triond. I bet you have heard of it. Well, it is pretty easy because all you do is submit the content for review, just like in the above sites and then, after some views of the content, you will get a lot of money. Plus, I heard on Helium, they can change what ever they want on your article, but on Triond, they keep it the same and let you be expressive. It was pretty fun for a little bit and I earn some secondary cash from it now. If you want to promote your websites with more ease, try (www.digg.com). It will give your article out for the masses of people on digg.com to review it and look at it. I have gotten double what I would have had without that website. It is gauranteed to get you more views, faster. Well, happy writing. :)

AC just gave me $500 in one shot! I won one of their producer awards. It is definately worth it to join and submit, and make quality work!

How does Helium work as a money-making site? Do you get paid based on the number of people who read your work, or the number who rate your work, or how highly they rate it?

St. Augustine wrote many relfection about love of God. He had an angel who show him the mystery and power of each word. The angel visited me once and told me each word has its own light that it bears. I want to give you a garland as a crown. Words are like flowers they bloom. Be sure to catch them when they bloom.
