There is good solution to your problem. Try to understand your sister's point of view, she is obviously uncomfortable working late at night. So, she works during the day and feels tired and then she prepares to sleep. Then you take over the controls, after sometime either because of the noise made by the computer or because of the light in the room she is unable to sleep, apart from that if you are listening to music then it's worse. The result is your sister is unable to sleep or she can't get to sleep without frequent interruptions. So, she gets irritated and then starts shouting at you to finish up your work fast.... (this might continue for the entire night) and the next morning it gets worse your sister is more grumpy and mad at you. To resolve your problem, use dim lights in the room (i will not recommend you to totally shut out the lights then your eye's will have a severe strain). If you are listening to music then either you listen to soft instrumental, classic music etc. or simply don't listen to music. In case it's the computer that is making the noise then it is time to get it examined by a technician and get the problem fixed. Also, try to find out your sister's problem by talking to her (when she is in a good mood) and then tell her your problem (you want to work overnight, and what can be done about that), surely there is a solution at hand. No, this is too minor a problem to hate a person, i am sure your sister and you can solve your problem easily.

Sounds to me like its your sister's little sister who is being an unreasonable bi*ch. I'll bet you yell at her when she keeps YOU awake as well. Learn some respect, child.

Well you just gotta tell her it's your turn. And you should try to be as quiet as possible. Maybe she can wear earplugs or her ipod to try to sleep.

I dont think I am the right person to give you such advice because I don't speak to my brother anymore because I hate him. He did a lot of bad things to me in the past, her girlfriend too and now I don't want to hear about them. Try to change the way of staying at the computer, you will stay during the day and her during the night. Your parents listen to her more then they listen to you? It's important this thing because if you get your parents for you side it's easier.

Know what were both on the same side when my brother and I are still young but I think this things will be out grown..coz now that were more mature we learn to realize that it's better to communicate than to fight or have a cold war in the house

Buy her ear plugs and an eye patch and tell her to shut the he** up. The only thing she hears is you typing so tell her if she doesn't leave you alone you are going to buy one of those voice activated typing systems so she has to listen to you speak all night. I shared a room with my sister my entire childhood. A good fistfight also solved alot for us. You could threaten her by telling her everytime she tells you to shut it down, you are going to pull some of her hair out. She has gone back on her pact with you, and that is just not right. It is the ear plugs or her hair. ;D

I was thinking you could also snip bits of her hair out everytime she yells at you. She will have lopsided hair and not be able to understand why. lol. There is just no way to co-habitate. I hated it sharing a room. The only good part about it was that there was somebody to talk to if you couldn't sleep, but that isn't even any good for you, since she is already asleep and mean too. So happy for you tha school is starting soon. Silent revenge is the answer ;D

I've got a sibling too... an older one.. and ironically.. I used irritate her a lot cz I'd be up late on the computer like I'm today. So as the comp was in her room.. I had to comply with her wishes until she was through junior college. The 1st chance I got after that ... while she wasn't at home... I shifted the comp into my rooom... Problem solved.. LOL!!!

Tell her to quit being a brat. I know how it is, it is hard to live with someone who likes to push your buttons and irritate you. I would try ignoring her no matter her screaming. I would put earplugs in and let her scream all she likes.

This is just a small issue a lot of siblings face - sharing space. You should work out hours like you are trying to do or if you work late then you can put your comp in the living room. That way uou wont disturb anyone else in the room.

You could learn to have a little respect for your sister, when she is sleeping stay off the computer. Perhaps you could get up early in the morning instead of staying up late into the night.

No, she will already be asleep and you won't bother her, unles you do so on purpose. But nice try, you just are looking for ways to get revenge on your older sister, who probably has to work all day and needs her sleep.

that's unfair. you let her use the computer as part of your deal and she should allow you to use the computer, too as scheduled. explain to her how you feel about it. it's impossible that she can't sleep because of the sound of the keyboard. she might not really want you to stay up on the computer. it's better to talk to her and clarify things.

How frustrating! My sisters and I got into our share of disputes over things - it can be really hard to live with another person, especially sharing a room. Is it possible to move the comuter into another room? Or change the time that you are supposed to have the computer? I know from experience that it actually can be more difficult to get to sleep when someone is on the computer, the humming noise it makes and the typing are not really easy to block out. Maybe there is music that you both like that you can play to sort of drown out the sound? I know I can fall asleep to music.

Life is all about making adjusments. Well, plz speak to her openly and find out whats the reason for her beahviour. May be some particular thing of yours is causing all this. And actually u can solve this problem. So first find out what it is? may be the light from scrreen is disturbing her. Mat be u can change the position of computer and things will calm down. So go ahead.

Take the computer to some other room, may be study room or in a corner of drawing room. So that she can sleep and you will not be disturbed, or tell her to make herself another bedroom. If this is not possible, then sit with your parents and take out solution to this together. You don't have to hate your sister for computer. There will be many computers in life, but sister, only one... and I hope you sister too realises this fact that she can sleep whole life, but she can share her brothers company now, later on each will have his own life. then you will miss each other.

dont make that things ruin your relationship theres some other way to solve it. Besides you can enjoy your work at night without ruin you sleeping time, why dont you buy a headphone so you can use your computer quietly and you can concentrate on your work even her i believe this things work to both of you...Godbless

i know how you feel! i shared a room with my sister for a long time, although we had our own computers but took turns having them in our room. maybe she is doing this on purpose because she's not happy with the agreement? perhaps you could remind her of the deal, and change it a little to stop her from getting angry? or wait until she falls asleep then use the computer? but it's all about compromise - i got to the point where i was able to fall asleep with the light on while my sister was playing loud war games!
