i live in a tropical country so the climate here is very different from your courtry. Are you from temperate country? so the birds we usually seen here may be not the same. i have a little garden in my courtyard. i used to put those leftovers on the top on the soil and cover with thin layer of dried grass to prevent soil erosion and make compost. These leftovers attract many birds to here for food. it's a lot of joy and fun to watch birds like sparrow, grackles, kingfisher and a kind of cute and tiny little bird which we called in chinese 'fengniao' means bee bird, seaching the food from the leftovers under the layer of grass and eating here.

i live in prescott where i see a lot of ravens or crows. pigeons are very rare as we have birds of prey and mammal preditors that eat the slower moving birds. the ravens grow to great size and haunt the shopping malls for scraps just like the pigions do in phoenix.

we see a great many ravens around our area. they scavange around the parking lots. in phoenix it's pidgions. there are no pigeons in prescott tho, they are too slow moving and easy prey for the many hunters in this area. we don't see them but there are birds of prey and mammal preditors in the area.

Right now, in the middle of the winter, I can't see any birds. Most of the birds migrate to the southern states when it gets cold out. In the summer we have sparrows, crows, pigeons (near the lakes and rivers), ducks, robins, cardinals, and bluebirds- these are the ones that I can think of. I used to feed the birds in the winter time, and then you could see which ones stayed for the cold months. Now we can't put birdseed out because it attracts rats.

some sparrows only. crows are rarely seen. sadly in the race of concrete-isation of the world we have destroyed the beauty of the earth. we have destroyed the habitats and sheltors of these birds.
