Which photo editing software do you use and how much do you alter your images? What do you think is the BEST software?

i am using Photoshop CS2, so far so good. It has most of the superb commands and features which can turn a mediocre photo into a great photo (especially if you snap your photo in RAW format) Mind you, the learning curve is a bit steep for some command / features. You can find quite a bit of tips, techniques, and tutorials online. Anyway, the end result is always satisfying

I use Gimp and it's free. However, I think you have to know a little computer programming to install and run parts of it in Windows. I don't know, someone else set it up for me. I can only get plug-ins if someone else has written it for Windows. It does a lot of what Photoshop does and some things it doesn't. I alter my photos based on what I am going to do with it. I only use darkroom techniques with photos that I use in "straight" competitions. I manipulate them for competitions that require it.

I use Photoshop Elements 3 and find it very powerful and easy to use. The editing I do the most is cropping the photos. I take many action photos and need to isolate the person to show the action. I also do adjusting of the lighting and levels. I shoot both indoors and out side so lighting can be difficult. You have to follow the action and can not always take the time to set the camera for the lightning so I use photoshop to fine tune the photo.

I use 3 different programs. ThumbsPlus for easy resizing (where you can actually type in the pixels rather than that stupid stuff that says "websize" or whatever), changing hues, and stuff. PaintShop for doing more on colors, but still pretty easy stuff. Or I use PhotoShop 7.0 to add in people, remove things, do special effects, and stuff like that. Now I just got PhotoShop CS2 as well. I hope to have time to try that out soon.

Foreign-made photo shop is the best image editing software and that is because IEM using it every day and now I feel very much comfortable in doing any kind of image editing in that software. IMO Web designer by profession and I use this software in my work and this is how I have learned it and now IEM and an expert level in that software. So I will definitely use that particular software for image editing to any other software.

i guess photoshop is the est image editing software in the market. you can do almost anything with the images when you use the software and also the tolls are very easy to handle. plus if you have an artist in you then you can do wonders with the simple yet very strong software. i guess that is the right choice.

I use Adobe Photoshop for my images, i use it to adjust the color and to add some effects on my photos. I don't think there is a best of the best in softwares, as long as you achieve the results that you want. I think that is the best.

I use Photoshop CS2. It is simply the best software out there. I can do so many things, and I'm still learning. With it I can take out items I don't want. I can change the contrast on specific items. I can sharpen and remove noise. I'm sure there are other programs out there that can do some of these, I just haven't found one that can do everything Photoshop can do. I'm guessing Photoshop Elements or PaintShop Pro would be the next best. They don't have the high price tag of Photoshop, either.

For me I enjoy using Corel and Corel paint shop programs. The paint show allows me to take blemishes off and add a tan to people and brighten the smile by whitening their teeth.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS2. I try not to edit my images at all, but sometimes there's something that I feel needs to be fixed or taken out or whatever and I just open up photoshop. But I'm still learning how to use it, and I believe that it's the best program for photo editing currently.

I use Photoshop cs2, photoshop elements 5.0, and corel paint shop pro XI. I like them all. They pretty much all do the same things, but certain tasks are easier on different ones. And some have a few other filters than the others may have.
