Do you download any of these from the net and then use the programs. I have found tons of great free software at www.download.com there are other free download sites but I have had trouble with monitorware programs from some other sites. I have never had a problem with c-nets site though.

I download freeware too. Not for the sake of downloading, but whenever I find something which is useful for me. A great freeware deposit is http://sourceforge.net

I do use some freeware. But it is always interesting when you try these programs. You never know what to expect. That is where the Windows XP restore feature should come in handy. I like CNET and do use it. Sometimes the reviews on their are all over the place and leave you confused. Anybody can have a bad experience with software, or it may not measure up to their expectations.

Almost all my software is downloaded from the net. Most of it is shareware or freeware. A good site for getting reviews of software, and then downloading them is Version Tracker. It has software for PCs, Macs and Palm. Sometimes I download directly from a developer's site. I've never had any problems with downloaded software, and I've been using it for years.

I tryed many programs. Everyone of them seems to me a good program. The fact that programmers let you see the program before buying it is a sign of quality
