If you could afford any type of house, would you prefer a small or a big house?

I think I would be happy with a small house. Enough rooms for me and my kids and a guest room. It's so hard to clean up a big house. The power bill for one would be so much too. I don't like wasting space or money.

I would prefer about an in between big and small. I wouldn't want it to big because that is too much to clean and take care of. I wouldn't want it too small because I like to have room for all my things and have room to move around in it comfortably. I would like to have an extra room for fun activites and a guest room too though.

We spent about 80,000 dollars I think building this house of ours. With insurance money it is totally paid for. Solar and Wind powered at 1500 square feet is not expensive to heat or hard. It is earth bermed and so keep at a constant temperature and only need 20 degrees to heat to raise it to living level. We had a bedroom for each of us and walk in closets. 2 full baths since I had to have a claw foot tub for soaking after a day in the garden. Also a pantry for having food on hand for over the winter from the garden. A library too since we read alot of books. Then lastly a greenhouse for all my houseplants and for starting seeds for plants for the garden. We hope to be back in it this summer. Hope for us.

I would be happy with a small house, unless I could afford to hire someone to clean a large house. I only need enough room for my family and friends when they come to visit. I would like to have a place where I could display my legos and a craft room where my wife and I could enjoy our hobbies. Now it is starting to sound like a big house. I would pretty much be happy with any size house. I think for me the location of the house is more important.

I'd prefer a small house with sufficient space for the entire family, a maid room and a guest room. Pro's of having a smaller home :- 1. Less cleaning - its not easy to juggle between cleaning and a full time job (& a part time job) 2. Less electricity consumption 3. Less household taxes - in Malaysia, we have assessment tax and quit rent tax 4. Less sewerage bills 5. Less water bills - a cleaning freak like me would probably be occupied with washing toilets! My current apartment is pretty small, but sufficient for my family. If the family grows, I'd probably upgrade to have more rooms.

i want a small house because i don't like cleaning that much, and i like it small so that members of my family could meet one another easily. sometimes people are too busy that they don't even meet up with their family at home because their house is so big. hehe..i like a small house but with large garden for my pets. :)
