Easy Australian Chocolate Crackles

Chocolate Crackles - Original Kellog's Chocolate Crackle Recipe

4 cups Kellogg’s® Rice Bubbles® 
1 1/2 cups icing sugar 
1 cup desiccated coconut 
250g copha®, chopped 
3 tbsp cocoa 
 
» In a large bowl, mix the Kellogg’s® Rice Bubbles®, icing sugar, cocoa & coconut. 
» Slowly melt the copha® in a saucepan over a low heat. 
» Allow to cool slightly. 
» Add to Rice Bubbles mixture, stirring until well combined. 
» Spoon mixture into paper patty cases and refrigerate until firm 

Makes 24 (approximately)

No Australian kids party would be complete without Chocolate Crackles, everyone in Australia has eaten them. Try them out, they are so easy to make, you can let the kids do them. They will not only enjoy making them, they'll enjoy eating them. Great for any lover of chocolate...... Spoon mixture into paper patty cases and refrigerate until firm Makes 24 (approximately) ----------------------------------------------------------- Chocolate Crackles (Copha free) 75g plain chocolate, melted over hot water 1 teaspoon margarine about 1 cup rice bubbles 2 tablespoons sultanas or chopped raisins (optional) Combine melted chocolate and margarine in a basin Quickly stir in rice bubbles and sultanas until coated with chocolate Spoon mixture into patty pans Leave in fridge or a cool place until set

The picture looks great! I'm from the US, so I'm not familiar with some of your terms... what is icing sugar? Is that possibly powdered sugar? And desiccated coconut copha? I have no idea what that is! I'm assuming that Rice Bubbles are the same as our Rice Krispies....

Im so sorry, I keep forgetting to add a conversion etc. Icing sugar is the US powdered sugar Desciccated Coconut is shredded coconut http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copha Copha is very hard to find in the US but you could substitute with a very clear vegetable shortning Until now I thought Rice Krispies were just like our weeties, but after a little research its proven me wrong. We have the same product, made by the same company the only different is the name, ours are Bubbles yours are Krispies. So your right Rice Krispies it is... I hope this helps a little

250g (9oz) Copha (a brand of solidified coconut oil) 4 cups of Rice Bubbles or similar puffed rice 1 cup icing sugar 3 tablespoons cocoa 1 cup dessicated coconut Method Melt Copha in a saucepan over a low heat or in a microwave oven Mix dried ingredients. Mix with melted Copha until well combined. Spoon mixture evenly into 24 paper patty containers. Set in the refrigerator. What to do if you can't get Copha Melt a 12 ounce bag of chocolate chips in a double boiler.(or microwave to melt). Add 5 cups of rice crispies to melted chocolate, and stir to blend. Scoop out into mini muffin cups. Let harden.
