Fairy Bread - Great party or snack food

Fairy Bread - This is a party favourite, particularly with this age group.

To make Fairy Bread all you need is:

1 loaf white bread
1 packet 100s & 1000s
Butter, Maragrine or Nutella (or any other chocolate bread spread

Spread butter on bread, sprinkle with 100's and 100's and enjoy.
You can cut the crusts off, and slices into triangles or squares or even use cookie cutters to create fun shapes in your bread. Sprinkles can be rainbow colours or you can use individual colours to make the perfect fairy bread.

One of the best party food, lunch time or anytime snacks for young and old to enjoy. Its another great Aussie traditional recipe to try. And its as easy as 1-2-3 1 loaf of sliced white bread (or how many slices you require) 100's and 1000's sprinkles butter, maragrine, nutella or any other chocolate spread Line your bread with butter, place the sprinkles on top, and enjoy... You can cut the crusts off, or cut the slices into triangles or squares or even use cookie cutters to create fun shapes in your bread. Sprinkles can be rainbow colours or you can use individual colours to make the perfect fairy bread. Hundreds and thousands is a cake decorating candy type topping. This is a site with a pic of hundreds and thousands, sorry I can be more descriptive with it. http://www.greataussiefood.com.au/showProduct/Food/Pantry/DOLR/100s+and+1000s+-+

Bilby's are extremely cute. Sprinkles can make bread look so enticing to kids its unreal how it works.

I have never heard of this, but it does look delicious! So does the butter help the sprinkles stay on the bread? My daughter loves to put butter on bread and then sprinkle cinnamon sugar on it. She has that for breakfast almost every day. I prefer mine toasted with cinnamon sugar on it, but she likes it as bread. She also cuts off the crust...

MMMM cinnamon sugar and sliced banana, now thats yummy. You do need the spread on the bread to keep the sprinkles from falling off, although they still seem to drop everywhere while putting them on. I use a spatular or egg flip to press the sprinkles down a little to stop them from completely dropping off. Both my kids still take fairy bread to school every other day. One is 11 and Zar is nearly 15, it truly is a really yummy treat. One that Im 100% certain your daughter will love, I still cant help to stealing a bite or two out of the kids sandwiches, then I have to make more for them...

Oh no, you definately cant toast fairy bread. You have to use the freshest white bread you can get, or it doesnt taste right. I dont know how toasting it would go, but I certainly wouldnt do it. My daughter's birthday is is 2 weeks, she turns 15. Tonight she was telling me she was having 15 friends at her party so we needed 15 loaves of bread....lol
