When I am feeling depressed or sad, I need to have my hands working..the thing that works best for me is cleaning my home..I do all those physical and time wasting houseworks...I put order into wardrobes..put shoes into order or handwash my delicate clothes...or I go and clean on the top of the kitchen or wardrobes...or clean the corners....things like this...it is much of help and eventually my home is there thanking me,too

I simply go for work.I work at the basement of my home so I take a cup of coffee (I know not good for my stomach ache but...)and go down for work.I open TV the more time without even watching just for the noise I avoid the phone calls.I also can put to watch any nice movie at DVD since I continue work.So at the end I earn money by working and I feel better too.

What works best for me is to get outside the house and go for a walk. I live about 5 minutes walk from the ocean, and walking on the beach seems particularly effective in getting rid of "short term blues." I watch people playing with their dogs, and children picking up stones and shells... it is both peaceful, but at the same time it also gets my body to come out of its sleep.

If I feel sad and it is related to weather like today, I make good coffee, watch comedy and spend whole day in my bad watching movies or listening to ebooks. As far as work I can do much more if I am in good mood. Today in Chicago is very moody weather. I am going to watch movies :)

When I am really sad or depressed I like to read a good book. I can pretend that I am with the person in the book and forget about the bad troubles that I am experiencing in life.

Ususally when I'm feeling depressed and sad, I talk to my Heavenly Father and He comforts me. I also talk to family and friends as well as they are blessings from God.

Several things work for me, these include: gym (exercise is a proven mood booster), shopping, ice cream or i'm lucky enough to live by the beach and stroll down there can do wonders! Housework is good one as its like killing two birds with one stone, get the dreaded chores done while making yourself feel better ;)

I find gym very relaxing, too...I am used to going to the gym when I have had a bad day...the more I work there, the better I feel because it is like losing all bad things while doing exercise...and I am left with a healthy body, too!!!

Nice of u there, some people (like u) can make a bad mood turn into good activities (2tumbs up). 4me, sleep is the best solution, hehe..., make the trouble go away and then start all over again, of course with fresh thingking 2solved it out. Maybe u can try 2share it with ur best friend? Sometimes u didn't need any answer just 2make u fell better, a great listener is needed and that was a friend for, a very good friend. Hehe...,

Listen to music, songs I can sing to, helps to sing away the blues for sure, never sad songs, songs that are emotive. I also need things to look forward to, so when I get depressed I know that there are good things on the horizon. I don't have time to get bored, but I do have time to think and I try to think positively sometimes it's not always easy.

this would have been a tough one, as until recently, i didnot know what would have worked best when i was kind of down and blue. i have been into family emergency for sometime now and i am with it all the time. where sadness is a part and parcel of life, you can well imagine the only calm is but to find the silver lining in all things bad and not so bad and get going. so, i always try to be in a happy state of mind and recently have developed some kinda remedy in my own right. whenever, i feel down, i make sure to visit an old home, close my house. it gives immense satisfaction to see those charming oldies smiling in sufferings and i keep wondering why am i so depressed at something so damn futile!! i just let go.....

When I feel depressed, I do many things to make my mood. What I do is depend on the situation or what I feel to do at that moment. Sometime I talk to friends or write a mail to friend. My friends are always a good inspiration for me. And sometime if I don't feel good I make something to eat what I like most. After eating one of your favourite food you definitely get a satisfaction. And sometime I watch movies and listen music to make my mood. But you know what, sometime nothing seems to work. Only time can make you feel better.

yes you're surely right ...it depends on the situation...if things are heavy and there is a great problem, only time will help...but when having a little bad mood we can try to cheer us up in many ways...and it is funny seeing how many ways we can find to help us a little

I actually face it ... i try to think of worst case scenario that could happen to me... then considering that that scenario wouldnt affect to me... i feel ok... i listen a lot of music and read lots of books... i tend to look at people in crowd and think... probably everyone has the same problem and get inspired with the look that all the people around me... also think that this happens to everyone... also important is something that depresses me is just a PART OF LIFE and not the LIFE ITSELF

When i'm down, i go to church and pray. After that, i talk to my friends or my family about the problem to lighten up my mood. Or, if don't want them to see me like this, i visit some forums and there i posts my thoughts. Sometimes, its better to share your problems to people you don't know than those people close to you. =)

there are times I don't want to talk about anything..I just want to "wash" my head from bad thoughts!!! but i do agree with you: sometimes it is a good choice speaking to someone who doesn't know you!!!

Well, when I'm depressed, I'd take a drive up to a lookout point near my place. Bringing with me some drinks and smoke. Sit there, look out at the beautiful scenery and let myself drown in the abundance of nature mixed with civilization. Its actually better for me to be alone when I'm depressed. Though most people would like someone with you. But sadness and depression are things that you will need to get over individually. Cos if you don't do it, you will just keep going back to the points in life where you feel depressed. Get over them yourself, and make sure you forget that the issues are depressing. Sing: "Always look on the bright side of things ~~ "
