Time moves too quickly

Have you ever noticed that the older you get the quicker the years seem to go by? It does for me. It's like I never have enough time to do everything that needs to be done. When I was younger it seemed time moved slower. Does this happen to you and do you have any ideas why this seems to happen as we grow older?

Oh yes - it happens to me. Remember how slowly time slipped by when we were kids? It seemed years between Christmases, and Birthdays. Now the years are passing by in the blink of an eye. I really don't know the answer to your question. Funnily enough, we were talking about it at work yesterday, and no one there had an answer either.

This is very true for us all as we age. When we are younger we are in such a rush to get older, that the time goes by forever. Then we reach the age that we are older, and we have so many responsablities that the time flys by so fast.

When I was a teenager I couldn't wait until I was an adult. Now that I'm an adult I wish I could go back and be a teenager again. My mother had a saying, which I'm sure some of you have heard, "youth is wasted on the young", now I understand it.

You and our moms must be related. I have heard her say that so many times, and I have felt exactly like you. Now would be a great time for me to be a kid, no pain, no worries, just waiting to get old again. :)

I've often thought that, and we were just discussing the very same thing at home here the other day. Time did seem endless when we were kids, the summers off seemed like it was forever. I think it seems this way because when we're adults we have so much more responsibility on our plates, and almost every minute of the day is filled up. Time always seems to move faster when we're busy. Think about those days at work when it's real slow, the day seems to take forever to get by until it's time to go home. On a slow day at work, 5 minutes can sometimes seem like an hour, lol. That's my theory anyways...

Sounds like a good theory. You're right, when we were kids we didn't have to all these things to do such as working, shopping, fixing dinner, how to pay the bills and so on.

I think some of the reason that time seems to fly is that as we get older we focus more and we also slow down some. It takes me longer to do some thing than it used to.

I have notice that since retiring I find the days shorter and I wonder how I found the time to do all things I have to take care of in a day when I was younger and working full time..
