i do , in fact i cant go through any book without one. i would even use book marks with my course books while i was studying...and i simply cant fold the edges of pages to mark them..for me it has to be a good bookmark, a pretty piece. i even have a good collection of them(if u could call it that!) what about u? do u use bookmarks or can u manage otherwise...how?

I was taught as a child to use a bookmark as it prevents damage to your books. I can't bring myself to turn down the page in a book now, I have to use a bookmark.

i use bookmarks too. i have a lot of bookmarks but the one i widely use is the hard plastic i got from buying a phone keychain, its cute coz its transparent and it has a yellow sides. then i have this samurai x bookmark which was given to me by a friend. bookmarks are helpful of course since they are use to mark the page where you stop.

I use bookmarks when available as in the Holy Bible. Sometimes I just tear a piece of paper to mark the page I'm reading. Sometimes I do not mark at all and just find the page when I get back reading. I can read with or without any bookmark.

I can't fold the corners either, I hate damaging any book that way! I always use bookmarks, though they're not always special or pretty. I can just as easily use a scrap of paper, but I do need something as I very easily forget where I was.

i do use bookmarks. i am particular about keeping my books absolutely neat and dont in any case fold pages to mark them. in fact i get very upset if someone else borrows my books and does that. i just cant take it. i prefer a neat book mark, even if it is a piece of paper...

At times, though I often fold the corner of the pages down, or use whatever is nearby - a scrap of paper, postcard, or whatever I can find! I sometimes wish I wasn't so into folding pages down, as they get "dogeared" so quickly that way! Old habits are hard to break.

I myself do not read much nowadays but my hubby reads all the time ( I think that is why is is so clever) he will not leave book lying open , he will not turn a page down ( neither would I, he would never leave a cup or anything on a book, when he is leaving a book lying on a table he placed something on op to keep it flat , he passes all his books on and they still look like new , I think it is so nice to look after things too xxx

Yes they are very essential for me as I take a long time to finish a book, earlier I never needed bookmarks as I used to finish books in one go but not due to time constraints I have to use bookmarks.

I try to always use bookmarks and I would never fold the pages of a book. Although I often pick up bookmarks by the handful at book fairs, book stores & libraries, I often can't seem to find them when I need them. So I use envelopes, napkins (clean ones only), ticket stubs, dollar bills and folded pieces of paper.

bookmarks - designs
Yes I do use bookmarks, when I read a book I put them where I left off so I can find it more easily and not have dog ears in my book. One of my girlfriend made them for me with all pretty designs on them and I love them so much.

I like to use book marks as well because I don't want to keep folding up the pages of my books. This is particulary true because there are times when I only have time to read a page or two and that many folded over pages can look a real mess. I also like how some bookmarks can be really pretty so I do have a collection of them around my apartment. Even when I can't find a bookmark, I will use a post-it note or a little piece of paper so that I don't have to fold down the corner of the page.

i use bookmarks as well - and i prefere to use beautiful ones, not just a piece of paper or something like that. I never fold the pages in my book, and I absolutely hate it if people borrow them and do that. books are to be treated properly I think. damage my books, and you will not get to borrow another one very soon!

I used to fold the corners of my books until one time I got a find from the library for damaging a book. (it was brand new!) From that day forward, have never dogeared a page. My standard bookmark is a unused tissue. But I've been known to use gum wrappers (the little sleeves that juicy fruit comes in) and envelopes. I have a very special one in my Bible that my grandmother made for me. (a crocheted cross with a tassle) I love that bookmark. :)

I use bookmarks. I just can't stand tuning a corner down in a book. So I always have a few around.
