Dont you find there's always one in the crowd .. that makes it bad for the rest? ... I just started a new job .... and this is indicitive of this situation where you start a job and theres one person that doesnt like you and wants to make your life hell ... They can't just let life be or they dont know the notion of live and let live .... they are gossiping about others ...or they are insecure in their position so they want to make your life hard so you can't get ahead .... Have you ever felt that? Have you ever run into this kind of person or is it just me?

No girl it is not just you. What did you think that they singled you out personally to play with. No no the must spread the misery like misery fairies. It almost seems as though there are as many of these people as there are fools and suckers combined (1 born per minute). They ain't happy unless they are personally doing their part to ensure that someone else is unhappy it seems. What can you do, look at them as an exercise in patience, tolerance, and conflict management. Oh and uh just keep smilin'! They hate it when you do that!

Dear heart, it's not just YOU. I have had many people like that in my life-- both in a work context, and in a friends context. Mostly, I believe these people are somewhat insecure... and they tend to move towards those who have somewhat "different" opinions (as in, not just follow blindly what's popular, like sheep), and who think for themselves. On some level, maybe they are afraid of people and ideas they don't understand, so they try to feel "safer" by putting down anything that (in their perception) that looks like it might make them seem less interesting or important. Indeed, there is one in MOST crowds... I try to just not give them any of my energy.

there are times when we're so caught up in the moment that we forget there are people in the sideline who are hurt and made to look redundant. You can't expect him/her to feel happy when you won't even recognize him/her.

I'm sorry that you went through that ... i just wish people would be more secure in themselves and allow each of us our space in the world ... but thats an ideal notion ... one that will only happen as people grow up i guess but ... i guess there will always be those that want to cause caos ....thanks for your response

I think this is always the case in any working environment. There will always be someone who will make things difficult for you. This is something that we should accept as part of any professional life. I think we just need to consider it one of the bumps in a road that we need to tread. Well there are always 2 choices in such a case, we can either mind these persons or just be nonchalant about the way they piss us off.

I think it just depends on the person. If you have a personality that would conflict with someone else then I can see someone having problems with other people. Maybe the truth is your both so much alike it seems like the other is making your life hell? Or maybe your right they hate you want want to see you crash and burn. I guess on a side not I agree though because even in my new job it seems there are some people out to get me.
