Since joining mylot I've made some changes. How about you?

I've been on Mylot now for just about a month. In this time I have gone out an bought a notebook so that I can jot things down in it, little ideas about future discussions that I can start. I have also started bringing my digital camera around so that I can take photos of different interests, buildings and such for future discussions or for answering a discussion. The first thing I do upon waking is check my email to see how many messages I have from mylot to know if it's going to be a busy day on the computer, lol. I'm enjoying my time here at mylot, but am finding that I'm incorporating mylot more and more into my day to day life. How about you? Are the people around you starting to talk about your eccentricities? What have you done that others may think is odd?

i am just like you. I have been on here for almost 3 weeks now. I just started a notebook this week already for alot of things, keeping track of the discussions, how many etc. and i need to actually sit down and work real hard to get to the 500 posts because i love photography and i have tons of photos that i would love to be able to add to different discussions, just with work and having a boyfriend. Work entails being infront of a computer for 8 hours a day im rather burned out on the computer by the time i get home from work. But i really do need to work on the 500 posts so i can be able to do other parts of mylot

I believe you can already add photos to your discussions. I have and i did it when i had only 50 posts. Have you tried? You may not get earnings for the pics until 500 posts but I'm sure if you try you will be able to do this now!

I joined mylot about a month ago too and when I started here, I started writing down how many posts, replies and all of those things I had done each day. I wanted to try to keep track of my earnings here somehow. I have to also figure out how to spend alot of time at mylot and get my daily chores done around the home also. It sure isn't easy to pull myself away from the computer and go do those things either. I have been trying to earn online over the last few years and my family really needs my fianacial support even though I am at home. I do the best I can each day online. I spend the same amount of time online as I always did, but I still make time for my husband and my daughter. Online earning is essential for me and my family understands that.

The only real change I have made is that I spend more time on the computer. Much to the dismay of my family.

I put a post up yesterday saying that I think I'm addicted to mylot, because I think about it all the time. What I'm going to talk about and stuff like that. Buying a notebook to jot down discussion topics is a very good idea. I should do that. I enjoy mylot because I actually get some "grownup" discussions out of it. I'm home with my 6month old daughter all day and if I didn't have mylot, I would be stuck talking to a baby that just likes to drool all over herself and giggle at me. I love her and I love her little antics, but sometimes Mommy need some grown up time.

The taking notes idea is a really good one. I've seen a bunch of stuff on the news or on tv and thought of a good discussion only to completely forget about it when I arrive at the computer. I may very well have to steal your idea...LOL

Since joining mylot not too long ago, I too look forward every morning to check my messages for responses and to see what my earnings are up to. It's something to look forward too, I also find myself checking on and off during the day to see what's going on on mylot. Like today, I finally just finished cutting out the material for a baby gift for my daughter's upcoming baby shower, I took a break from that and got on mylot. My hubby also is noticing I talk a lot more about mylot. He usually is the one to come home and tell me something new he's learned about on the radio, he drives a lot and listens to talk radio, so now I have things I can tell him I've learned on mylot. So, yes I think it has changed me.

I don't necessarily write things down now, but I do take mental notes of a lot of things when I see or hear about them going on around me. I also have noticed that I spend more and more time here at mylot instead of spending it on my previous activities.

it seems that mylot is slowly but surely taking control of our lives! i too am on the constant lookout for news that might be interesting enough to be posted for discussions. i too have thought of jotting down my thoughts and points, so i can save time. ususally i have to think for a while before my thoughts flow, so i just sit around the computer waiting for an 'inspiration'. jotting down responses in advance is a much better idea, as it would not only save time but also help in streamlining and editing of the responses to make them more coherent. like you, i too check my mail to see if anyone has replied to anything i have put up. with me it hasnt gotten to that point yet that mylot has taken over my life, but it sure does command a lot of my time and effort nowadays.

It is really a great idea to make jottings of your day today experiences. It helps you to organise your ideas and lets you not to forget what you have observed.Watch your environs and find out that you have many a things to tell to the world.Good going'

I find myself doing the same as you with the jotting down ideas for discussions. I usually do this on scrap paper tho. Good idea to get a little notebook just for mylot. I should keep it on my nite stand when I go to bed because a few topics usually come to my mind at bedtime and i don't write them down and forget them by morning. Bringing the digital camera is also a great idea. How much time do you actuall spend on my lot in one day because 774 posts are a lot for just one month!

I prefer to think of those changes as an evolution. MyLot is a process and not a thing. If it ever stops changing we will see it stagnate and die.

Since I have joined myLot I have changed....ehm...did I change something? :D no...all the same as before. Anyway I see that myLot is always changing and everyday I find something new or something to forget my daily problems...leave all the away and enjoy here, reading news or simply reading what people likes to do or what people thinks! I agree with you when you write "i write ideas for future discussions on my notebook". I don't write my ideas on a notebook..anyway it happens to me often to think to mylot when I am far from my computer..and I would write them down. Usually it happens on me when I go to bed. Sometimes I think about new discussions before to sleep...but then...the next day, I already forgot all :o)) eheheh. Instead when I am near pc and I don't have the time to write on myLot, I simply write some "keywords" to remember a new discussion to do!

I don't what I've done is odd. I have differnt files for odds and ends that could be potential discussions. I have files for separating myLot emails (descibed in one of my discussions), I have a huge picture file, which is not getting used much since they stopped paying the way they used to.

I will say this-- I used to surf around on all manners of forums I belong to, many of them with very little activity. Whereas I don't spend any more or less of my free time online, a lot more of it is focused on myLot-- and I am taking part in some topics I never really paid much attention to before. So I guess you could say that I am learning new things. There have also been a few discussions here and there that have inspired articles that'll end up being published elsewhere, in print. So "it's all good."

Yeah, I have done the same but mostly for my blog. Once I get 500 posts I guess I can start doing that here as well. I jot down almost every thought or nugget that i might be able to use as an article idea. Some of my friends think this is a bit nutty but I would be doing this anyway and at least I am getting a tiny little bit of compensation for vomiting my thoughts onto the keyboard.

I have added mylot to the line up of tabs I have going on my browsers - Explorer at work and Safari at home (Mac). So now I can switch back and forth btwn 4 different email/forum sites and see what is going on. I haven't gotten as organized with my discussion subjects yet. I probably should keep a notebook handy, especially when I am in the car. I do some of my best thinking there - I get ideas for all kinds of stuff. I had some great thoughts about some poly clay techniques I wanted to try, and I am still working my way thru a faux tortoise shell technique (still have to post my last try to another forum. I will never get caught up at this rate LOL) The first site to get tabbed is my hotmail account, since all posts are noted there. Then I just work my way thru all the emails and forums. Since I have been working on the home computer more lately (etsy store stuff) I have been doing the same thing there, so I can check it in between editing photos and such.
