For the last 4 days there has been little dog running lose in our neighborhood and no one seams to be claiming it so I took it in today, it was so hungry and I got her some food and water. Some of the people in town thinks that someone has dropped her of here I think that some people can be so curl. I have a friend that takes care of dogs and she said that the dog is about 12 to 15 years old by the looks of her. She is a little long hair chihuahua and so cute so I am going to keep her because noone has even been looking for her at all. So guess what I got today well I got me a new doggie that someone throw out like yesterdays trash.

that's a nice story to share to us. it's cute and heartwarming. the dog might have been thrown away by someone so rude but found a great home with you. i say, the dog is still lucky that you found him/her. have a great day with your new doggie! by the way, did you name her already?

that was so nice fof you...i used to remember my father also had the habit of adopting stray kittens when i was a child. he is also kind-hearted and really love pets. when he would see a stray cat or dog, especially puppies or kittens, he would look around for any owners, then if he had confirmed that there are none, he would take the new pet home. i rarely do this because lots of stray dogs here are wild but i am fond of dogs and would usually ask for a friend to give me one if ever he or she has a dog with puppies.

Ohhh that's so cool honey, I'm sure the dog is lucky to have found you..hehe!:) I know you will take good care, I wonder why people throw out their pets, if they didn't want one they shouldn't have bought one in the first place. Have fun with your doggy!:)

I don't know how people can do things like that. They will pay the price one day. It is so good that you took her in, you just saved her life. Best of luck with her.

littlemel and hoghoney, i both agree with you. there are always people out there who are willing to help in any way. so, why throw away a dog? that's so sad to know that there are still cruel people like that on earth. i hope we have punishments with people like them so as to learn their lessons, too.

thanks for the support both of you. we have been all over town asking but a small town like this as I said earlyer that we all know everybody and noones knows anything about this dog so I am keeping her the owners dont need her back as I see it. and if someone does come looking for her they better have a very good reason for leaveing her out this long.

Glad to hear you came to the little one's rescue. That was very kind of you. Now you have a new friend. That breed tends to have a very long life. She was very lucky to find a friend like you. Enjoy your new friend. Any photos yet?

It certainly appears someone has just dumped the poor animal along way from its home. Very cruel, however it's lucky that it has found a kind and caring person to look after it. I would recommend a vet check though. Good luck with your new found companion.

Glad you have a new roomie hoghoney. LOL You may still want to put up some "found dog" posters or fliers. The poor thing may have just wandered too far from home & forgot how to get back. In doggie years, the poor thing is over 80. You may also want to have a check up at the vet to make sure there aren't any health concerns that need attention. I take it there wasn't a collar?

she has a collar but the only thing on it is a little bell. we have asked all over town and noone has ever seen the dog before and I live in a very small town where everyone knows everyone. also me and my boyfriend deliver newspapers in the town that we live in and we have never seen it here before either and we know every dog in town. and yes I had her checked out a friend of our takes care of dogs and she said that she was just a bit over weight. thanks for the reply.

*applaudes applaudes* thank god for someone like you~ Over here, pple r throwing "trash" out fm littlest hamsters to big doggies. Our SPCA is over loaded with abandoned animals. there is another 2 pte organisations that rescue doggies n kitties. Most of u may think tt only mutts are being thrown away. WRONG! Pedigrees are also treated like trash. Its so sad.

I know what you mean my son for some reason is in love with pit bulls and he and a friend of his is starting a rescue home for them. there is so many people that gets pit bulls and then dont treat them right and just let them run lose and where I live at when one is sent to the pound they are put to sleep that is the worst thing about all of this. thanks for the support and also I love your pig I will call your pic (money in the bank!)

I like to think that things happen for a reason. I think that you and the new dog needed each other for some reason. I have never "bought" a pet. They always seem to find me. Kudos to you for taking the step and bringing the little guy inside. Now as a person who "finds" pets regularly you should let the SPCA know you've found him (just in case someone is looking, although it seems you've looked into that already!) I wish you both the best, and hope that (even by the soounds of things he may be older) you have a long time together. Sometimes nothing can bring as much joy as the love of an animal! smile!:)

That was so sweet of you to take a stray dog in. It is refreshing to know that there are still people like you in this world. It is sad to think that someone didnt want her and instead of giving her to an animal shelter they just dumped her off. At least they did it in a nice neighborhood where if someone wanted they could take her in just like you did. Congratulations on your new family addition. I bet she has really happy now.

When I read your post, I nearly cried. I am SOOOOOO glad you took her in! And since she can't say it, let me -- "Thank you for saving my life!!" I know she will love you and be a wonderful companion to you. I does seem odd, though that someone who would overlove the dog enough to over feed her would also abandon her. It takes all kinds, i guess. We are always getting animals dumped on us and it just breaks my heart, so, again, I am so very glad you took her in! KUDOS TO YOU!!

I am so happy for your good fortune in finding your new companion! It does irritate me that people can just throw away their pets like yesterdays trash. People do it all of the time and it is very sad. In my neighborhood we have stray cats running all over the place. My daughter of course likes to bring these little guys home, she envisions herself the pet liberator of the neighborhood. One day she brought home this beautiful orange cat. She was skittish, but was very loving. I tried to put her in the house with my dog, but they just couldn't get along! After my own efforts of trying to find a home for her, I had to call animal control to pick her up. I regret doing that, but I was more scared my dog would hurt her. She had a better chance at the humane society. I couldn't deal with her running loose and getting run over by a car or one of the kids in the neighborhood being cruel to her.
