I have never gotten up the nerve to try them myself. To me, it just seems gross. We were at a seafood restaurant this past weekend and the table next to us had two families including a few teens. One of the girls have never tried eating raw oysters so they talked her into it. It was the funniest things I've ever witnessed! She didn't like them and made the funniest faces you could imagine. I had to compliment her though, she chewed and swallowed and didn't spit it out. Do you eat raw oysters? And if so, how? a la carte or on a cracker?

I'm with you! I could never try Oysters. I do like oyster sauce. When I go to a chinese restraunt I order beef with oyster sauce. The first time I had oyster sauce, I didn't know what I was eating. It was leftovers my mom had brought home. I would of never had that either. There is something about the word RAW that I don't like.

I do eat raw oysters!Where i came from, is normal to eat any seafood.. I only make sure they are fresh, and i eat with some lemon and maybe some shrimp sauce. I grew up eating exotic foods...I understand why a lot of people don't like them..is raw, fells funny...and not everybody is use to this kind of food. A la carte is good, or any other way,as long is fresh and looks ok..

Fresh is important since they could be contaminated easily. I bet they are good with lemon!

I am not one to eat any meat raw, I don't care what it is! But I do like both oysters and mussels steamed, but served chilled. They are very good!

During the Galway Oyster festival we always had oysters on the menu at work so seeing as how everybody else was having them, I decided that I would also try them. They were served in a cream sauce on a bed of rice, but for the life of me, I just couldn't chew them. My colleagues told me that I should swallow them whole so I tried to eat them that way. Ooh, I just couldn't do it. They were so slimey. I just had to leave them and ask for a something else to eat.

I have never tried them. I have never even had the urge to try them. I don't think I would ever eat it under any circumstances. I don't think I could even stand to watch someone else eat them. Just the thought of putting something like that in my mouth is enough to make my stomach churn. I bet it was funny to see that girls face when she ate it. She is far braver than I am.

Where I come from we usually dip our oysters in boiling water a couple of times and then have a feast....I like oysters with a dash of something acidic like lime. It's one of my favorite things to eat...but are on the heavy side..so after like a dozen, I usually stop coz they make you feel full right there

I prefer cooked seafood only. My grandmother would often tell me how good raw oysters were, but not fot me! Gaggy, slimy, nasty.

No way no way no way - ewww. I will never understand how that can be considered an aphrodisiac. I wouldn't feel very sexy if I ate those, I'd be throwing up :P

No way. I don't think I could get up the nerve to eat anything like that anyways. I'm not a real big fan of any kind of fish. My daughter on the other hand would probably try it. She loves eating sushi. Besides that I have seen her eager to try all kinds of "different" foods. It's pretty amazing watching her eat at one of the Chinese or Spanish buffets.

My father used to buy raw oysters and bathe them in vinegar, diced onions and lots of chili. He loves it and always asked his kids to try things first before they say no. That's how I get to like eating raw oysters. They taste good and I am just yucky... er... lucky to have tried it.
