Transport Your Mind.

Bridal Veil Falls. - These are the 6th Highest falls in Canada and they're breathtaking! The best time to see them is Early Spring, when the snowpack starts to melt off the mountains.

Transport your mind to a lush green tropical forest. The trees cast a green canopy that protects you from the sun overhead. As a breeze rustles the leaves, dappled sunlight filters in through the gaps, and sunbeams dance between unusual shadows. I n the midst of this comes a soft whispering sound, and at first you wonder what it is. As you head closer, you realize it sounds almost like a waterfall, but the sound seems too ... well ... soft. Suddenly, the trees open out, and there a wonderful sight awaits you. It IS a waterfall, but a beautiful soft waterfall flowing gently over the rocks to the creek below, almost like silk, or satin ... or a bride's veil. My partner and I are lucky enough to have Good Friday to ourselves this Easter. We're taking a trip to Bridal Falls Provincial Park. The falls we have seen before and are just breathtaking. The park we haven't explored before. I have a feeling we're going to have an amazing time. What are YOU doing this Easter?

When you go there, if you don't mind, could you get some postcards of the place? I collect them and I love waterfalls; you can send me a private message if your interested; thanks.

I hope you have a fantastic time, we haven't made plans yet, Shrek will probably work all weekend as normal so I'll probably try to find things to entertain the boys, lol.

I've gone and got the little darlings art things so I'm praying for sunshine so they can do art outside - its scary else, lol. Painting eggs is a god idea, they can eat them later then too, lol

lol rainbow - shrek?? *Giggles* If you want suggestions as to keep your boys entertained, why not hard boil some Eggs and have them paint them? You could boil them the night before so they're ready the following day. Get some non toxic paint, spread a protective covering over your table, and away you go :o) I've done that with my kids before and they loved it - although that may be because they decided to start painting each other instead *rolls eyes* It took me forever with them in the bath LOL.

Awww thanks greengal, I definitely will lol. I've been to the Falls once before. It was late evening and the sun was setting on to them. They almost looked like they were on fire! Awesome! I'm so looking forward to it. There were other things we wanted to do but unfortunately, our Gas prices are going up up up and up some more. Right now we're paying $1.14 a litre! Ugh!

I never used to make plans, but since we moved and there are so many kids around, we quickly realized we wouldn't have any choice but to make plans lol. It's going to seem strange without the kids for 2 days but heck, I'm not complaining lol.

what a nice description of Bridal Falls Provincial Park (anyway where is that place, what country) i have a prayer petition to God, so this coming holy week i might as well, go to church, fast for 3 days (thursday, good friday and saturday) spend time reading bible, doing some charitable work. when easter sunday comes, i will celebrate with my family at our home. we will attend early morning mass. i will cook special foods for my family to anticipate that all my petition that i ask God will all come true. hopefully by next year easter and i have money i can also go on vacation to some nice and refreshing place.

Hi finethings. Bridal Falls Provincial Park is close to a place called Chilliwack in BC, Canada. They falls are the 6th highest in Canada and they're stunning. I like your description of a traditional Easter. While I'm not religious per se, it sounds a good thing to do to go to early morning mass and then come home and share food with the members of the family. Our family isb't really that big anymore, and I live overseas with my kids anyway, so the family couldn't just "get together" like that anymore. I hope you have a great time.

I have 2 beautiful blue-eyed grandsons that will be expected me to have some serious Easter egg hunts planned!!! They are the perfect ages to really enjoy that activity.....arriving home and having a little Easter Brunch wwill set the mood for a rousing egg hunt!!! They are 4 & 6 and my yard is fairly large..with lots of trees, shrubs, ground cover and flowers...the perfect mix to do some creative hiding!!!! Bridal Falls sounds amazing...we are going to try to plan a trip to the Columbia River Gorge in a couple of weeks..the water falls are beautiful there also...

I have three kids lol. Ages from 9 down to 6. We originally planned our trip out for them because with things being a little tight financially, we haven't been able to get out much. We thought a day out in the fresh air would do them good lol - only to find out that they've been invited to an Egg Hunt with their friends. So, they're going on the Egg Hunt and staying the night there, and we get the place to ourselves and some rare time alone which is awesome. I've heard that the Columbia River Gorge is beautiful. I hope you guys have a fantastic time :o)

absolutly nothing at first I had hoped to go to my sisters but she is of the mind that I should not partake in christian holidays when I am not christian... worse thing is that even though they living within short driving distance holidays are the only time I get to see my niece... so I will be spending it at home with nothing better to do than read and watch movies

I am sorry to hear that. If you lived just a little closer I would have invited you to come along to bridal Falls with us :P But hey, nothing wrong with staying at home and vegetating lol. A rest and relaxation will do wonders :o) May I just tell you how jealous I am that you live where you do? lol. I saw the Greek family restaurants on TV and I've wanted to visit them ever since.

Easter seems to come and go at our place without hardly noticing it. Back in my childhood it was the same. There was a choice, go out and join a traffic queue to the most popular resorts, sitting in baking car (no air-conditioning in my dad's cars!) or sit in the garden with nice cold drinks... As I kid I wanted to get out to places, but getting there later than expected all hot and irritable taught me not to bother. We did get to visit the places but outside the holiday seasons.

We have not the festival day. We have the traditional flower-enjoying festival day. So many people in company enjoy the beauty of nature. I like it very much.

I too am a huge fan of nature. There's something so awe inspiring and powerful about the beauty that Mother Nature bestowed on us. We should be very thankful.

I will cook all day. Kids, family, close friends will come to eat and visit. With huge full bellies we will lay around, watch TV, tell stories, laugh all afternoon. Cant forget about pigging out on Easter Candy too.

Yum. That takes me back to my days as a kid at Easter lol. Mom would cook all day and the family would come down and share Easter Eggs and so on for the afternoon

Talking about a forest in the manner you describe makes me very sad! Most of the forests in my country have been encroached upon, but there was one called Mabira Forest that still enjoyed a certaind degree of intackness. Two weeks ago, my President decided out of his assumed political correctness, that the 7,900 acres of this thick rain forest be mowed down to give way to sugar plantations! Every body here, even the unducated ones thought the president's sense of Judgement was failing him-there were riots, and unrests still come up spontenously as a rection to this decision! But if I have to take my mind to a typical rain forest as I know it, I will be going to the biblical Garden of Eden, where the sweet scented flowers, the large white butterfly swarms, the birds of different clours and sounds, the colombus monkeys and baboons, the snakes and pythons all live under the cover of these thick rain forests like they have done for a million years! It is simply a a wonderful kingdom of wild life canopied by the forests!

Mind refers to the collective aspects of intellect and consciousness which are manifest in some combination of thought, perception, emotion, will and imagination. There are many theories of what the mind is and how it works, dating back to Plato, Aristotle, Adi Shankara, Siddhartha Gautama, and other Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers.Pre-scientific theories, which were rooted in theology, concentrated on the relationship between the mind and the soul, the supposed supernatural or divine essence of the human person. Modern theories, based on a scientific understanding of the brain, see the mind as a phenomenon of psychology, and the term is often used more or less synonymously with consciousness. The question of which human attributes make up the mind is also much debated. Some argue that only the "higher" intellectual functions constitute mind: particularly reason and memory. In this view the emotions - love, hate, fear, joy - are more "primitive" or subjective in nature and should be seen as different in nature or origin to the mind. Others argue that the rational and the emotional sides of the human person cannot be separated, that they are of the same nature and origin, and that they should all be considered as part of the individual mind.

Sounds like a rather wonderful thing to be doing. The Pacific Northwest really does have some wonderful natural surroundings. Most likely I'll just be staying home and perhaps doing some spring gardening. If the weather is nice, I'll probably end up walking on the beach, and in the adjacent state park which is barely a 10-minute walk from here. If it's a clear day at the beach, I'll be able to see from Whidbey Island in the east across the Straits to the San Juan Islands and to Victoria and Vancouver Island, beyond.

The Pacific Northwest has some amazing natural surroundings. I've been surrounded by them for 2 years now and there are days when even a view we see every day takes my breath away. We last visited Bridal Falls when we moved out from Ontario to BC 2 years ago, and even then they were stunning! I'm looking forward this time to spending time in the provincial park and exploring what it has to offer. I'm a sucker for finding cute little hiking trails lol.
