Have you responded to any of the new news articles or blogs?

I've taken a look at the news articles mylots posts now and even responded to a few. Do you ever respond to those? Do they show up in the regular discussions, or do they just stay in the news section. No one will ever see them unless they specifically look at them. So, is there any benefit to my posting to those articles?

To be honest - no. I hardly have time to keep up with friends' discusssions and the usual things here, without getting bogged down with anything else. Also, as I recall from the initial announcement from MyLot, the news items are exclusively US news, and with all due respect, I am really not the slightest bit interested in that, as I would prefer to keep up with news from here in Europe which I can relate to more.

I don't even look at them. I don't come here for blog posts or the news because it's easier to find what I want to read on other sites. I checked out the blogs when they first started and found that all they are is mirrors of blogs that are hosted in other places on the net. I found one that I already subscribe to through Bloglines, and that's how I read most of the blogs that I'm interested in. I certainly wouldn't bother to come to mylot to read blogs. I don't think there's any purpose to the blogs except that the owners think that being here will get them extra readers. I have no idea how that benefits mylot or its members.

I have posted to several of the news articles, and I do believe they just stay in the news section. It doesn't bother me if no one else see my response...I know it's there. I did get credit for posting to the news article, so I'm pretty sure we're getting paid for doing that also. As for the blogs, I'm not in the least interested in responding there.

Well I haven't yet responded, I actually only looked at them the first day of the change. I want to know if we get paid for responding to them but haven't quite figured that out yet..So I guess I am not being very helpful...lol

They did say that we would get paid for posting to them, so I guess that there is some benefit to posting to them. I'm not sure if anyone will ever see your post of if it will be lost in the abyss of blogs out there, but if you want to keep track of the blogs that you have posted to, I guess you can subscribe to those blogs. I have poked around a bit and looked through a few of them the first day they were added to MyLot, but have not posted to any of them yet. I haven't seen any of them added to the regular discussions do I believe that they just stay in the news section, although I'm not certain about that. Perhaps this is anothe question for MyLot?

I have responded, both to the top news stories, and to the ones I have found under the topics in more news stories. I believe that they pay at least as well as regular discussions, but am not positive, yet. I like reading a lot of them, rating them, and responding just a little. I have not worked my way around the blogs yet. You will only find the news articles in the news section. I know that our earnings page now has the category "participation" rather than discussions.

I like being able to respond to news and blog discussions. Since I am always scanning mylot for quality discussions, it is a good opportunity to respond to news and blogs as they are presented with quality, allowing me to stay in that frame. However, I wish mylot would have a 'news articles we respond to' section, because after you respond to a news article that's that--if you don't save the link to that thread, you will have a hard time keeping up with the discussion. I like that we can subscribe to the blog feeds, because it's just like having a steady flow of quality friends discussion's to respond to. It takes me less time to find discussions that interest me that way. Think about it, you know news is going to stir discussion and debate, and this can give you access to an easy way to make quality responses every day, instead of weeding through discussions before you find one discussion that stimulates and provokes your thoughts.

I have read a few articles but haven't responded to any yet. I think mylot has some interesting stuff there and if we took a little time out from regular responding we will find good things to read. I found an article about H1 visas, good read. Mylot has mentioned that if we respond we get paid, so its like any other discussion, it of course doesn't appear on the regular sections here.

No .. I have no interest in any of the clutter of things that MyLot chose to stick on my home page .. in fact I got rid of them immediately .. nothing was pertinent to me or my likes dislikes etc .. I have no interest in blogs either .. I simply don't understand why folks want to spend time reading about other peoples diary notes .. that is unless they actually know them and then it seems like 'spying' to be reading their diary ..

I went through some of news articles and blog section. But I did not make any responses yet in there. I enjoy to respond interesting discussions of my frineds more than responding to blog and those news aritcles. So, till now I am not responding to those new addition of Mylot. But I don't mind to go there and take a look at those articles and blogs every now and then.

I have glanced at these blogs. I have not responded to any of them. I simply don't have time, with all my responding to friends. But I did wonder, are we paid more for responding to a blog?

Blogs are on my to do list, as I know people say you can make money on them. I am sure I am smart enough, I just need to take the time to learn it.
