How do you measure "success"?

Success is a matter of attitude. if you are happy , confident and satisfied person , that gauge for success.

Success as a subject has a lot of veriety. every person has his/her own definition of success and successful life. for some money is the most imortant aspect and wealthier they are, more successful they consider themselves. For others popularity is the measure of success, so whole their life is spent to look for means and ways to become popular, no matter how good or bad those means are. yet for some others authority, power, fame, knowledge etc are measures of successes. As an object, success can be measured by comparing the actual outcome of some action and the intended or planned outcome. If actual outcome is the same or close to intended/planed outcome than one is successful and if it's way behind what was intended than one can not be termed as successful. Having said that, human life is very complicated, we usually redefine our goals time and again depending upon our experiences, problems and resources, specially in the matters of long term goals. Thus making, measure of sccess, a really complicated issue.

I don't compare myself to other people, and judge my success by their standards because everyone is different. I judge success as making a goal and succeeding at it.

The meaning of success can vary for different people, so I'm sure you will get a large response of different opinions on this one. My answer would have to be, success is a state of mind. No matter where you are or what you are doing in life, if you feel successful, then that's just what you are:-)

To be clear about what success is must be the first step to achieving success. So far, the best definition i have come across is: "Success is the completion of anything intended" in other words success is finishing what you planned to do. Even robbing a bank is a kind of success if that is what you wished to do. However, you probably did not end up in prison!

in my opinion,success is simple and pleasent,if I feel happy from my work or other things,i successed! no person can keep happier every day,so I think success is happy every day!

...at the end of life.. all we can take with us, is our relationships.. and what we have learned.. (and maybe taught others by writing a good book or something) :))

Success is doing what you always wanted to do. You have your health and someone you love and they love you back.

I measure success by the satisfaction and pleasure I get form it.. I think if ur success gives u immense pleasure and satisfaction , then only u can feel the success

sucess to me is TOTAL SATISFACTION

Success is what you make out of it. If you are happy with what you are doing that is success for me.

it is measured on how much you want it and how it makes you feel. You may win something or get somewhere but if you were not that bothered about getting there then the success is low. But if it is something you have wanted all your life it usually feels great, sometimes you may also realise that something you have always wanted is not what it was made out to be.

erm.. in my opinion.. it depends on different point of view.. some people will consider success by having a complete family.. having all the things necessarily needed for life.. and that's success for them.. some might think having a good paying job is successful.. in other words, success means you have to achieve your dream.. something you always wanted to do.. and if you manage to achieve it.. you're successful.. to me.. money is equal to success. because i have to admit that i'm money minded.. why acting not like one when i am one? no points of lying to others right? someday, when i earn lots of money.. i will feel that i'm already successful..this is how i measure my success =)

Success is to go accomplishing the little objectives that you find through life.

Success for me is a condition when I can fulfill all my needs and everything I want, and the most important is I can make everyone I love and I care come true.

that's variable. it depends what you want out of life, and when you've achieved that goal out of life you have success.

when you touched the lives of others who are in need and you can see smiles in their faces because of you....

A straight forward but still a hard question :) Success in business, work, personal life may have very different rules.. I would say success is satisfaction of what we have achieved or received. also it's when you feel that many people would want to be in your position instead of you feeling that you want in someone else's position!

the meaning of success is dependent on what we consider important versus what we consider trivial. for a money orientated person success may mean a healthy bank account. for the artist success may be a well executed sculpture.

I think the measurement is quite tough actually. I am guess most people would say that the success is not measured by how much money you're making but instead happiness. For me personally, I think happiness through finding your own personal conviction or meaning toward life is quite important. Without convictions or reason, ones life is only meaningless isn't it? I think we're all fragile and life is short!
