Professor Fired for telling students to defend themselves  

defending yourself is a very basic human right. of course its a good idea for people to learn how to defend themselves. this will also help save lives.

Hello Sir, first of all it was surprising for me to hear after the sad incident that the gun shooter was korean american. As far as I feel here in korea (and you know better than me :)) that these people are pretty peaceful and calm by nature. Anywyas it all depends on specific situation that made him to take extreme step.
Anywyas about your point I will back it that one should defend especially in situation like this. Have a nice time....

The prof was right. If you find yourself in this situation, you should not be a like a lamb to the slaughter.

I remember reading something about a teacher who was attacked by an ex-husband. Her students jumped in and saved her life. Wish I could remember the details.

And there was just a little girl in Long Island, 7 or 8 years old, where a guy kidnapped her, then let her go, she screamed and fought back.
