Radical Posts on myLot  

My views about a lot of things are fairly radical. But I stay away from that kind of discussion on Mylot because it usually attracts too many nutcases. If your opinions are too "out there," even if they're well argued and supported with facts, you're going to to be flamed, negged, and sometimes piled on by people who get their friends into the act. Lots of sites have the problem of drive-by ratings, and it seems to happen here also.

You'll end up attracting every troll in the known universe if you go into that.

I want to be myself, rather than go with the crowd...I want to post what I have on my mind, not what brings more responds...I rather talk to narrow group of people than have rubbish posts and ask questions like.."what is your favorite color..my is blue?" ....
just short note...try to respond to as many discussions as possible, so people know you better...
and change your Avatar, it is hard to remember all by name....

There is nothing wrong with wanting to post radical discussion topics - I wouldn't say people in general stay away from them because they're radical, it's very possibly because they don't understand what you're asking. For example, I'm an easy-going person, I don't like getting into heavy debates and if someone is discussing something political or religious I try to avoid it like the plague. I've seen too many discussions which sound like "my religion is better than yours" which sounds like schoolground chanting "my daddy is stronger than yours" - you know what I think when I see these discussions? "YAWN" They do nothing for me but I know they are close to some people's hearts but it seems the controversial ones are the ones that get the most responses - although they seem to have turned into a slanging match between various religions in some cases. I'm not religious and I'm not political and I'm definitely not radical, saying that I like to respond to a variety of discussions and will add to a radical sounding discussion only if I feel I can add a quality response to it :)

Erm after all that rambling on and on, in answer to your actual questions, I think you should just post as you feel like, don't give into pressure of what seem to be popular topics. I just answered your discussion on Coke or Pepsi, that definitely wasn't radical LOL and I'm enjoying reading your other discussions too. x
