No one "accidentally" gets pregnant.

Really? Then explain the failure rates in every form of contraception.

what about rape victims then? I am sure they did not make the decision to get raped and pregnant by that.

That wasn't by accident either, that was by force.

I was 17 when I became pregnant with my first, and 18 when he was born. I was on birth control at the time, but as it turns out, hyper fertility runs in my family. 3 of my kids were born on 3 different kinds of birth control thanks to that family trait, lol. I don't regret it for a minute, just so that's understood. :) No, I didn't consider abortion. I'm politically pro-choice, militantly so, but I'm personally pro-life. I just personally couldn't. I don't begrudge anyone else the decision to abort, but it wasn't a consideration for me. I knew I'd make do one way or the other. It wasn't easy, but I did. I will say that teenage mothers have a much harder time than many realize, more so because of the societal backlash. I remember even the way the nurses treated me in the hospital, and I feel sorry for every new mom under the accepted age that's going to have to go through it. People look at you like you're a walking disaster, look down on you and judge you, without ever knowing the circumstances. It's not an easy road to walk, and they have enough in their path dealing with the pregnancy and how they're going to raise their new child. They don't need the public backlash on top of it all. When I see a pregnant teen, possibly my only reaction is sympathy. I feel sorry for them that they're going to be missing out on so much, because they will. I love my kids, I would never trade them or the experience of being in their lives, but I know that I traded a very important piece of my life in order to have them. I lost part of my childhood. Teens should live that life first, and enjoy it to the fullest extent. So when I see one that's bypassed that stage and moved straight to motherhood, I feel sorry for what they don't yet realize they're missing. Other than that, I simply wish them luck.

Thanks so much for sharing that and i understand how you feel because my younger sister had a baby when she was 17 too. I really feel so low just by looking at her knowing she miss alot in life. I hate when people judge because of the mistake or accident that happened. Instead of judging why not inspire and support her or help her boost her self esteem.

I wasn't a teen mother, but I don't look down on teen mothers either. I've met some women who got their children when they were teens and they're great mothers.

I was not a teen mom and I dont look down on them either. Teen mothers are just like any of us as long as their being responsible and taking care of their child THEN NO ONE SHOULD JUDGE THEM!

I saw on the television news that an 18-year-old girl delivered a quadroplets..what ah! how could she take care of those children? it's really sad to know that nowadays, younger teens are getting pregnant coz it's a great responsibilities for both parents expecially to the single moms.

Sometimes they asked help from the governments until they could handle the needs of their childrens, that's the time the government would stop. Maybe after their children reach their ages 2 or sometimes the governments presents to send them all to school until college.
