Do you think that all topics have been covered at least once in Mylot?

I am at a loss to find a topic to discuss that hasn't already been discussed. I think with so many people on Mylot now, we have covered about every topic known to man lol.Do you think so? Why or why not?? I would like to hear your thoughts.

I think there is now virtually no topic in the world that has not been covered in one way or the other. I keep thinking of new discussions to start but it always seems they have been started by other members already. There are even topics I never ever imagined but I end up seeing them here. May be we should just rely on the news for new topics and even then, you find more than one discussion.

Yeah mssnow, that is what I mean. That is one of the reasons I feel reluctant to start discussions here at mylot. It seems the topics have already being started. Thanks.

Hello, mssnow,i think most of the topics have been covered more than five times or more as you can always see five similar topics in a discussion, although they look similar,i think we can still be able to reply them in different ways and come up with different answers. In fact, some of the topics are more popular and more people tend to start related topics in order to generate good discussions.

Fair enough,it may be a good starting point to build up your own thoughts to start up discussions.I am happy to see similar topics but not the exact topics with same content.

With the amount of people on Mylot, admittedly most are not active but even so even if every member has contributed one discussion to the site that's 98,650 discussions, I like statistics lol, does it show. So every subject has been covered in one way or another, but it's the wording of the discussion that can vary. I do make sure that when I do put up a discussion it's not been repeated, but as most of my discussions are of a personal nature and pertinent to me then it's less likely they are duplicated x

Yes, you are right in a way. But if we share our problems here or share our experiences than it will be more interesting. I do that here in mylot, i try to post all my problems or funny or sad experiences and thats very helpful. We should not try to copy or look at other topics to start a topic but type what comes to your mind.

I think the more common topics have been covered over and over again. But there are a few more off the wall topics that I'm sure haven't been discussed yet. And that's part of the fun in finding those topics that haven't been discussed yet and that will draw attention.

I think every easy topic has been discovered and over posted. Some of the medium sized ones as well-- but there are still topics to hit, and things to discuss. It's just going to take some real effort to find them. In some cases, new current events will provide some inspiration, but unfortunately we'll have 4000 posts on the same current event flooding the place.

Not hardly. I think there are other topics to discuss, but the problem is that no one or very few are interested. People are more excited to hear that Paris is in jail or that Britany is in therapy than they are to dicsuss how to make their lives better. Each of us has been exposed to a number of things during our lives, however there are many things that we don't know much about, therefore are not at ease talking about. I have said many times on here that Pareto's law is in effect. That means that 20% of the topics will get 80% of the traffic and vice versa. It is that other 80% of discussions that gets little traffic that is much more important. But few people are interested in those. This law applies in many situations.

You are probably right. Everyone has their own interests. Some are less interesting to most than others. Like me I like to talk about bugs lol Most people don't like that subject.

A new topic- I haven’t seen one like this- : ) Nope I don’t think all topics are covered- there is New “news” everyday happening in the world. Everyone has some sort of a problem or dilemma everyday- So it’s new to them in their situation- I see a lot of people on mylot- just specifically asking for advice on certain topics. I think there is a lot more to cover. I’m glad you are using the search function- I think a lot of people skip it- that is why there are so many double and triple postings!

Hi Ms Snow, I think there are a million different topics out there just waiting to be discovered. Theres always new stories in the news and on T.V. and then there are a million different angles to stories that have already been done. As long as you take a different point of view at the discussions that have already been done, you not copying the discussion. I think theirs still lots to chat about here. Take care, Terry

Yea, quite likely. There may be other variations not already covered but topics-wise, I guess they are largely covered. So what do we do? Mass-quit myLot? :)

I have observed that many same topics have appeared in various deviations, even on the same day. However, I feel that there are bound to be untrodden topics not discovered. The untrodden topics include life events that happen to one. Since personal experiences are unique, definitely the topics would be unique if one puts in effort to craft it into a unique discussion.

I believe that a lot of topics have been touched upon, but they have not been exhausted. There are millions of them, and there are thousands of possible responses to each. A response to a topic is seldom rational, as is a response when we talk face to face with people. They all are mostly emotional, and that's what makes them so varied. No, I don't believe the end is near LOL

Apart from a few exceptions from some very nutty scotsmen I think they must have all been covered! That is why I wonder why people get so upset if you discuss a subject they already have done weeks or months ago! xxxx
