Toto is the brave little feller from The Wizard of Oz. Max is Tin Tin's dog, if I remember rightly. Greyfriars Bobby sat on his master's grave year in and year out while people in Edinburgh came and fed him. Nana is the large dog belonging to the Darling family in Peter Pan. She acted as the children's 'nurse.' Nipper and Crab sound like dogs out of comic books, but I don't really know them. Somebody had a dog called Thisbe? Possibly a Shakespearian character!!

Who the heck is Nipper? Toto was Dorothys' right hand canine, Rover is standard cowboy equipment and Nana hung out with Wendy. Who the heck is Nipper?

Well I know who Greyfriar's Bobby was because I'm from Edinburgh. As the previous respondent says he was a little terrier that watched over his masters grave. Nana is the dog from Peter Pan and no idea about the rest. Although I think Marie Antoinette had a dog called Thisbe but not sure if that's the person you're looking for.
