| | What I admire about him is that he had a dry sense of humor. And he was prone to depression and yet he did what he had to do. | | | |

| | I am really fond of Martin Luther King, Jr and Abraham Lincoln. Because they did great things for people of color. I hope to live up to their example someday. | | | | | | |

| | I've always been fascinated by Joan of Arc. It was amazing that she lead an army when she was so young, and her tragic ending just made her more fascinating. I'm also very interested in the Tudors -Henry the VII, his wives, Lady Jane Grey (who also was killed young), Elizabeth I. | | | | | | |

| | I like Henry VIII too. The Tudor era is such an interesting time to study. Another thing that is fascinating about Joan Of Arc is that she was female warrior and the men followed her. | | | |

| | Since I am Asian I would have to say Genghis Khan and Sun Tzu. Genghis Khan will forever be my idol. He conquered vast lands and went into Europe. It just happened that there were no competent heir to pick up where he left off after his death. Sun Tzu was an amazing tactician and a good general. His Art of War is the basis of almost every conflict, not only in the battlefield but also in our daily lives. He instilled discipline in the Chinese troops. These two men, for me, are the greatest Asians ever. | | | | | | |

| | It will always be John Paul II, the great Pope of the new millennium. He was a man of compassion and deep humility. His effort to spread the good news about Christianity, democracy, solidarity and peace, earned him a reputation of being one of the most effective God's messenger ever sat in the throne of St. Peter. He was often credited as the instrument of the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe. His compassionate manner made him known through out the world. He was a man who endured suffering and regarded it as the true essence of life to realize one's mission in life. During world war II, the then Karol Wojtyla, undergone a painful experience of what it would be like to live in terror, he endured long hours of hard labor pounding limestone at the scourging heat of the sun and during the biting cold of winter to avoid being sent to the concentration camp in Germany because his father, who was the only one left to him after his mother and brother died, had grown ill and frail, but he never complained. When he was 21, his father died, the future Pope learned to live alone, but this trials did not weaken his spirit, instead he used this as an opportunity to serve God and people and inspired others with his unique abilities to cope up with distress, sufferings and sacrifices. He carried his mission in life with profound dedication and devotion. His personal trials became his inspiration to spread peace and unity through out the world. | | | | | | |

| | I am not Catholic but I love John Paul 2. I called him J.P.He had this aura of love and understanding. And besides he was beautiful inside and out. I was glad he did all he could to bring Cathlics and Jews together. Being Jewish that touched my heart. I miss him. | | | |

| | Just like my hero Pope John Paul II, I have nothing against other religion, in fact I have a great respect to them. The late Pope, according to his biography: John Paul II, Pope of all Nations, had a special good memory and affection to the Jewish people, because while still a teenager back at Krakow he often played soccer with the Jewish community and helped many Jewish friends during world war II when Nazi became very hostile to Jews. It's no surprising that when he became Pope, he bridged the gap between Jewish religion and Catholic and was very successful. In fact, he was the first Pope to visit Jerusalem and prayed at the western wall. He was truly an amazing, wonderful human being to come in recent memory. He was often regarded as one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century. Like you, I greatly missed Pope John Paul II and praying hard that he will become a saint one of these days. I am greatly devoted to him, I have even many posters of him in my room and prayed to him every night. | | | |
