Is your home surrounded by trees? |
| |
| My home is surrounded by Oak trees, I have great appreciations for the beauty that they provide, for the shade they provide, and for the oxygen that they produce... Many people will build new homes and will have the entire home site bulldozed off...every single tree taken down...then they have their home built and a couple of little tree sprigs may be planted...My question is why not leave some of the big mature shade trees...most dozer operators are very talented about their profession and could easily do this... So, is your house surrounded by trees OR are there just a few OR none at all?? | | Big Old Beautiful Tree | | | | |

| | I live in an apartment block and the only trees I see are out the front yard and they are small compared to the Oak trees surrounding your home. If and when we own our home, i hope to have some trees in our backyard and probably one or two in the front for shading as well. | | | | | | |

| | I live in neighborhood that was formally farm ground. It is sad to see all the crop land being turned into housing neighborhoods. At least, they didn't have to cut down any trees. We are just beginning to have some trees growing bigger around here. We've been getting live Christmas trees for inside our house every year, and then we plant them outside. So, we have some pine trees that are growing. Your home sounds beautiful surrounded by all those trees. | | | | | | |

| | Our house is surrounded with lots of trees. But the Oak tree doesn't agree with our climate and it is such a pity, because it is such a beautiful tree, they grow in abundance in Cape Town though. Apart from the trees we have a huge greenbelt at the back of our plot, it is almost like a forest. | | | | | | |

| | i BOUGHT MY HOUSE 4 YEARS AGO. iT WAS LOADED WITH TREES IN THE BACKYARD. wELL 5 ACTUALLY. oNE HUGE eLM WAS CUT DOWN AS THERE'S A STUMP ALONGSIDE THE BACK FENCE. mY GUESS IS IT WAS WAY TOO CLOSE TO THE FENCE AND RIPPING THE FENCE UP SO IT WAS CUT. tHERE WERE 3 jAPANESE eLMS RIGHT ALONGSIDE THE GARAGE. i HAD TO REMOVE THEM AS WELL. oNE WAS LITTERALLY LESS THAN AN INCH FROM THE GARAGE FRAMEWORK AND HAD ALREADY BEEN CUT TO CONFORM TO THE BUILDING. aNOTHER YEAR OR 2 AND IT WOULD HAVE CRUSHED THE GARAGE. tHE OTHER 2 BY THE GARAGE WERE ALSO TOO CLOSE AND WOULD HAVE to be taken down later so I did it then. I lost a pine tree behind the garage to the weather elements recently as well. In the 50's when this house was built landscapers planted trees all over the yard with most being too close to the structures. Now I have a 60 year old Red Maple in my front yard that is in bad shape and needs to be cut down but I am leaving it there. I've planted 2 apple trees in back. I miss the shade in my back yard a lot. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~ | | | | | | |

| | I live in what many people term a 'concrete jungle'. We can't afford to live otherwise, because my country is small but it has to house more than 4 million people, and that number is set to grow even higher. Although I am surrounded by buildings all around me, there are also trees and bushes at every nook and corner. In fact, if you come over for a visit, you will be amazed by how green this country is for a city state that is so built up everywhere. | | | | | | |

| | Oh man. I lovelovelove trees and nature in general. If I could I would live in a treehouse...they really have those ya know. But anyway. I'm still young, so young in fact that I still live with my parents, so you can imagine I can't make a lot of calls concerning the garden and whatnot. But I've recently gone on a plant buying spree. I actually only have 3 in my room. But if I could fit more, I would have millions. Plants just bring so much life anywhere. There's not question about it. When I move out, I want my house to be surrounded by nature. I really don't like hearing about people chopping down a dozen trees to build a big house. This world would be so beautiful with more of them. | | | | | | |

| | WE have a lot of trees around. This is foresty country, so there are pine trees out back. There are two crepe myrtles in front which had been planted by the previous property owners. Also a lemon tree and some kind of hybrid apple tree, the fruit is not edible so we still haven't figured out quite what that tree is. Oh and there's also a grapefruit. It does freeze once in awhile in the winter here, so we have lamps and plastic we have to protect the citrus with in winter occasionally. We do have some oak out back as well. This area is pretty bad for people with a sensitivity to tree pollen becasue there are so many tree types. No matter the season, there's som epollen drifting around! | | | | | | |

| | we have lots of trees on our property. In the back of our home we have what looks like an orchard out there, but they are just trees. It looks almost like a forest from the road. In our front yard we don't have too much, we do have a Magnolia tree out to the side and some crab apple trees. | | | | | | |
