The greatest remedy for tiredness is sleep. Soothing slumber that rests the muscles, nerves and brain is one of nature's greatest rejuvenators. It is every bit as essential to life as air, water and food - it is no wonder we spend about one third of lives sleeping! Some people view sleeping as a time of inactivity for the body. We have to remember that when we sleep the body is bustling with activity, such as repairing tissues, healing, rejuvenating the organs and cells with fuel and replacing old cells with new. Do you think that sleeping gives us the much needed rest that we so much lack off or do you fight to be awake to be able to do other useful chores around us.

I believe strongly that sleep can extend your life and keep you looking young. However, as much as I believe in it, I find little time to do it. I work all night and, when I go to sleep, it's morning. I know in my head I should be up so I have a hard time sleeping deeply. The phone rings. My son (16 years old) will come in to tell me he is going to the park. My dog lays on me. I get up five (at the most) hours later soooooooo tired. And as I work, I think of sleeping.
Now and then I just crash. I will go to bed and sleep for 10 hours. It is rare but apparently very needed. I am desperately trying to get on a decent schedule but it isn't happening.
My aunt, who has to be close to 80 now, believes that sleep is essential for life and for staying young. She slept 10 hours a night and sometimes took a nap during the day all her adult life. She looks 60. She feels great. She has no health issues. That proves to me, I need to SLEEP!
Good topic. :)

Yes, I agree that sleeping is essential to good health. I need eight hours of sleep eachnight, but probably only 7 sometimes. When I have to take my daughter to ewarly morning swimming training, I get far less sleep.
Sleep helps to heal the body. People who lack a decent sleep over the long term, end up suffering emotional problems, as well as physical.

I do agree that sleep is very important.
I do not sllep much, just about two to three hours a night and that is all.
I do know that it is not good, but my body is in hyper most of the time and it seems like he does not need more then that this days.
I also plan my chores accordying to two to three hours of sleep, and now days i can not let them go, they are too important to me, to prefer sleep over them.
