Golden Books

I don't really collect them for him, but I do try to find a few, especially my old favorites. My favorite as a kid was The Poky Little Puppy. I also try to find ones with characters he's familiar with (like the Disney ones). Right now he's really into his Dr. Seuss books and doesn't much want to look at or read any other books.

i have lot of collection of books, like enclyclopedia britanica, tell me why, health books, some novels these are some of the golden books i collected to my children.

I pick up any and all books, normally ones that I find at thrift stores, for my children. My oldest daughter is not really a reader, she is more of an "outdoors" kind of girl. My middle child loves to read and my son, who is almost two, also loves books. Golden books are great, I had those when I was a kid as well as the Scholastic Book Club books. If you can get your daughter a subscription to a book club it is exciting for kids because they are getting packages in the mail. My son has a huge book that is a compilation of lots of Golden Book Stories put into one book. Dr. Suess stories are also favorites of his, he likes "Go Dog Go!".

Golden books have been around for ever. i am 63 years old and I remember my mom reading me the "Poky Little Puppy". My own kids favorite was the "Bunny Looking for a Home". My oldest would often repeat the story line down the road annd down the road he went looking for a home. The bunny looked at all kinds of homes before he founf just the right one for himself. Now I would like to suggest that you look at the Little Critter books. They are so wonderful. I only really remember Disney stories in the Golden Books series. My kids are older now (11 and 14) so we don't read those books anymore. However, when we do our book clean-outs we do keep the Golden Books and the Dr. Seuss books. I hate to get rid of any books at all but find it necessary for space reasons and to bring in some cash. But we will save the Golden Books and Dr. Seuss books for my children's children.

Right now my youngest is into the Bailey School Kids series and my eldest is into the Madison Files (?) - stories written in email form. She has gone through all the different levels of the Olsen Twins books.

I love Golden Books. My son has a bunch of them. He doesn't really have a favorite one yet, because I only allow him to look at his board books by himself. He does like for me to read him the Sesame Street Little Golden Books, though. When I was little, my favorite Golden Book was "The Gull That Lost the Sea." I still have my old copy of that book that I will let my son have when he gets older.

Right now, he likes looking at the Baby Disney board books and the Sesame Street cloth block books. He has a set of Winnie the Pooh board books, that he just isn't as into. He also has several othe rboard books. And several sets of books for when he gets older. My mom loves to buy him books at yard sales. He literally has hundreds of books that he is still too little to look at by himself (he gets rough and tears pages).

my mom kept alot of my golden books for me which i have shared with my daughters.

My mother used to collect the Golden Book stories for me, although some of the books from my collection have gotten themselves lost over the years.

I used to love the ones that came with the tape recording of the story and sound effects.

It's lovely to see a parent carrying on the tradition of reading (so many kids don't seem to be able to do that these days), especially of books that we knew and loved as children.

I have no children,but i like to reed important and golden books. I like "Mrutyunjay" as a golden book.I have a library in home for preserving good kinds of books.
