Do you feel that you eat more or less at buffets? Or do you stay about the same?

I do not overeat at buffets. My husband is one that refills his plate more than 3 times. And, he goes back for dessert and coffee. I have my protein, vegetables and fruit, and sometimes a small cup of soup. Why people would want to make themselves ill by overdoing it is beyond me. I look at the buffets as an affordable way to dine out.

I noticed people eating a great deal and to be honest, I dont think everything in them is good. I tried a few things last time and they were horrible. I mean, we all do have different tastes but I wont eat things if I dont like them.

I don't go to buffets any more (or even eat out all that much) because of a health condition that makes it hard for me to eat sodium or to overeat in general. But, when I used to go to buffets, I would plan to east sensible, but would be tempted by too many good things. Also, the price is high and I want to make sure I got my money's worth when I go to these places.

I can not eat at all you can eat buffet, because I don't eat much at once. I was in this kind of buffet few times, and I end up looking at other peoples overfilled plates, the heaviest people always get too much at once on one plate….

I never go to restaurants offering all you can eat buffets as I have a small appetite so it is a waste of money. If I am invite to friends for a buffet meal then the same applies for me but then they give me a "to go plate" LOL

I'm getting used to giving myself small spoonfuls of things that I like, instead of large ones. That way I can fit more choices on the plate. The second plate is for the things that I didn't get to try the first time, or if something was REALLY good! I don't usually go over 2 plates. I don't like to feel too full!

When I was on holiday in Rhodes they had a greek buffet where you could go and help yourself to as much as you liked! They had a great selection of meats and greek traditional foods and I was spoilt for choice! I do go round and fill up twice! And usually come away feeling stuffed! The food shouldn't be so good! So much to taste and choose from that I have to have a bit of everything!

When I was younger, I did have a tendency toward overeating at buffets. In Reno, where I live, every other place in town has an all you can eat buffet and specials on things like sea food on certain days of the week. Being a Florida girl originally, I love my shrimp and they're hard to come by here unless you go out to eat. Now a days, however.... I don't over eat at buffets because I've learned that I'm miserable afterwards if I do. I will go back for seconds, but not thirds and I always make sure to leave some room for cheesecake for desert, because no trip to a buffet is complete without a good desert.

I used to go plate for plate with my uncle when we went to buffets together. We both did 8 plates at a chinese buffet once. Boy did I feel that. Now, I try to limit myself. I try to do 1 plate of salad, 1 plate of various entrees/sides and 1 dessert.
