This is why I don't like buying stuff online...  

I'm not sure what happened in your case, but I've actually never had an online purchase problem- ever. I have credit cards on file, bank accounts, I trade stocks, I do banking, Ebay, Half.com, and yahoo.com, and everything comes through just fine. I suppose a mix-up will happen every now and then, though. Just give it time.

I usally shop music, clothes, books online. But I never pay directly using my account. I let them send me a monthly bill instead. I have accounts at the websites where I by my stuff.I get the stuf with a bill together, or I use the bill account and pay in the end of the month evere month. I have never Or will never give my real bankaccount out on the internet. Thats status Q.

I never buy anything online. I just dont feel comfortable doing that. Because there are so scams happening out there. Why risk it? The only thing I ever bought online was airline ticketts and that was years ago.

well i have only bought stuff on ebay, but have been ripped off from there too (i ordered and payed for a ring, but never received it) i guess the the saying of 'buyer beware' is especially true in the case of the internet eh?

I have never had this particular problem. I am very careful what websites I make purchases from. Even when I buy through Amazon or Ebay, I pay attention to the seller and their ratings if it is not a well known store or someone that I have purchased from before. I do feel safe when I follow my guidelines for safe shopping. I wish you luck getting it straightened out. I know that would cause a huge problem for me.

No I dont order on line for this reason . People take advamtage of the info. and maybe good you did bank you learned about it faster than a credit card that could of took a month and then where would ya be. I would also call bank and tell them that only one of the cahrges was to come out of my account or cancel the whole thing and go to a store. Why arent the school selling the books like they used to ?

I must say that until I got smart and used a debit card, I simply wouldn't shop online.

My method is to put the exact amount of any purchase that I intend to make on my debit card, and make the purchase immediately.

Debit cards can be loaded by many methods, so I don't have to bother using my bank info... a money order will do... I never use the debit card from my bank... there are many free debit cards available online. It's a chore, but it's well worth it, to keep your credit card and bank info as secure as possible, Debit cards, used wisely, can allow you to have the power to shop online, and get the great discounts and conveniences that it offers, and keep your cash safe, too.

I've purchased things online, but only because I had to. I've never had a similar problem, although wow, that's quite the problem. I can't imagine how I'd handle it if it happened to me - I have very little room in my budget for error, much less an error of that size.

You may call me paranoid but I don't give away my bank account information to anyone online - and I don't keep a credit card. It is best to inspect what you buy personally and pay cash even in this electronic age.
I hope you get back your money quickly.
