It is Time to Let Off the Bug Bombs

I have tried to use other ways to get rid of these dang fleas, but to no avail. The cats are sporting new flea collars and I have used treatments to help them to kill the fleas they are carrying about. The fleas in our carpets are not going away. Tomorrow I am letting off the bug bombs. Time to get down and dirty with the little buggers. I am tired of getting my ankles and feet bitten to bits.

ElusiveButterfly, Before you do that, as I know that with in 2 weeks you shall again be fighting a downhill battle with fleas, bombs just do not cut it other than killing the adult fleas and eggs. I had an infestation a few years ago that dang near wigged me out and made me want to burn down the house. It was not untill I researched and dug for information that I began to understand how to combat them. It really comes down to the chemicals that you use and understanding the life cycle of the flea. In short there is the pupa stage that common flea treatments do not kill. There is a product called Sergeant's GOLD. It comes in both a spray for the floor and furniture and powder for carpets. Wal Mart sells it as I am sure other stores do too. Follow the instructions and I guarantee you You will start seeing a big difference in just one day and in a two days your ankle biters will be gone. Promise.

I will definately search for this product. I still intend to let off the bombs. I am tired of the fleas jumping about. At least I will be given a reprive from the little buggers.

I let off the bombs in 2 of the rooms. They are still in the living area. I have treated the carpet with borax with little results. I am heading to the store in search of the Sergeant's Gold and hopefully I will find it.

Yes once those nasty things come off the animals and get into the carpet nothing else but the bombs will work. Here is a tip, be sure when cleaning up when they are finished, to vacuum extremely well. I mean every thing and any thing. Get under all your furniture as well. Sometimes you have a few that will survive so you want to suck them suckers up. Then toss your bag when you are finished and take the garbage out. LOL, like I said, I had this problem once and it's a pain to do, but you have to. If you don't you are chancing becoming infested all over again and spending all this time and money once more. Anyway, good luck and let us know how it goes. :oD

You can only do what you have to do. Let those flea bombs rip through your carpets.

I decided to try one room at a time. Our spare room is really infested and that is where I let the first bomb off. I removed the kids toys before I let it off. Of course I will need to wash the bedding this weekend, but it is a small price to pay.

Oh yeah- there is nothing worse than fleas in your home- I had a problem once and used the flea bombs- they worked wonderful- Be sure to take your cat out of the house- Oh wait- I’m sure you have already done this- it’s an older post- Did the bombs work?? Hopefully there are no more fleas there- and no more itchy ankles!

I let the bombs off. They worked their magic. But, the dang little ankle biters came back. I then bought some carpet powder to kill the little buggers. I have to redo the carpets again. This isn't fun.

We rented a house a few years back that was absolutely loaded with them. It was a 7 room house counting the bathroom and I used 12 bombs (putting 2 in any room with carpeting). The next morning they were gone!! It was worth the money to be rid of them!! AT PEACE WITHIN

That sounds about right to me, Elusive, LOL. I can't stand any kind of creepy crawlies, ugh! The bombs should take care of those pesky critters.

Let us know what works. I get bites also, but they never bother my husband. He says it's because I'm more juicy. LOL
