Do you think I'm a bad daughter?

No way. Who told you are a bad daughter because you dont give every penny earned to your parents??
When I was 22 I started working after studying and I also still lived at my Moms. I gave rent to her for the one room I used in the house and that though I bought much of the groceries I wanted myself instead of simply opening and raiding the fridge.
Of course you are right in keeping some money for yourself because your parents will sure use the money up you give to them for utilities or rent or whatever.
And what money should you buy clothes with, or furniture should you ever want to move out from Mom and Dads and be in your own apartment. I saved up for this when I worked with the money that did not go to my Mom, just like you do now, and so I could buy the kitchen I needed and a bed and closets when I moved into my first own apartment with 30 years old.

WHAT?? You are not obligaged to give any of your earnings to your parents. I have parents too, and they have JOBS!!! I make my own money and they make theirs. You are not your parents slave, and they should be lucky that you are so generous. I think you need to keep all of your money, and that your parents should have jobs. We don't have kids just so they will bring in the money, we have kids because we want kids. Quit being so hard on yourself!!!!

I have to say you are not a bad daughter,you have already done a lot good to your dad and mom,cause you can live on your own,you don't need to ask for money from your parents and there is no obligation to give all your earnings to them,
you getta pay the daily consumption,right?

You're not a bad girl, instead you're a good girl at least you know how to share your earnings to your family, saving for your future is not bad at all. I am sure that for the savings that you have when your family need it sure you will give them any amount from your savings. So dont worry at least you shared what you have to your family and save for your future at the same time.

I think that you are not a bad daughter. You know that you don't earn much, yet you have given some money to your parents. It is a good way to save some earnings in the bank for future use. And still I think that if your money needs to be used by the family, you will still offer it unconditionally. Don't feel guilty about keeping some money for your own. It is ok with you. I do the same to my family.

i think not giving your full earnings to your parents doesn't makes you a bad daughter you have your savings and that's good, it is good that you save your money for emergency purposes, . i also earning a very low salary, but i don't have my ATM with me, i gave it to my mom for her to withdrew my salary, i only ask for transportation allowance, but it's ok with me because i know that they don't have their own earnings anymore since my father decided to retire, but im hoping to be hired to other company to increase my compensation so i can also save like what you are doing right now..

no,no way.who does consider that?does your mom said that toyou?i think she is proud you have a job and help her with some money and it's a good thing you keep a part of your salary cause you are young and you'll need lots of things when you'll want to start your own independent life

Every family is different. I have never given any of my money to my parents, except of course when I lived with them. We had a set amount that I had to pay for room and board and the rest I saved for school. I don't think it makes you a bad daughter to not give all of your money to your parents - in the end, you're going to need to support yourself and make your own home, and you're going to need money for that.

I don't think there is something wrong with you. It is very normal that you give a part of your salary to your parents and save the rest for yourself. I do the same all the time. No matter what, we still need something for ourselves.

hello there fay linn.. it seems like you are doubting wether you are a good or bad daughter to your parents. is it right to say that you think you are now a bad daughter because you are not giving all of your earnings to your parents?. do they get mad at you or are they dissapointed that you do not give them all of your earnings?. see i think that your parent understands that you also have a life of your own, that you also have your own needs and wants and that you are doing all you can to be able to support yourself and support them too..
