which the place you had a big delusion when you came there?

sometimes people like ountries or culture or tradition of a country even if they haven't been there before..so it happens that after many time you admire a country but you didn't touch the reality when you decided to visit there you had a big delusion because you imagined something of different may be reading books,guide,newspaper or just hear about people who was there or live there...
so which is the place you had a big delusion?and why?

well this trip wasnt to a another country but a city. I went on a holiday to sydney and had a wish to see the opera house. It looks amaizing on the pictures and on tv so I was excited when we went only to find it it wasnt what I expecetd. It was gray and dark and all over the place and plain unatractive. It does look great when you look on it from some distance but its not the same.

mmh rally..i never been in sidney before but surely as you remember it's a very famous place..and in photo seem to me very attractive too...so strange you are the first person who said this after come back to sidney i ever heard..:)
