Have You Ever Had a Dollhouse  

I had a beautiful big wooden one my grandfather made for me when i was a little girl, it was quite large and it was painted in my fav colours at that age, pink and purple lol.I loved that doll house so much and i too would play for hours with friends or just on my own, But i cant remember what ever happened to it, I think i may have grown too old for it in my mothers opinion and she gave it to a younger cousin or something.

Nah never..lol. I was a tom boy and loved to play with GI joe and starwars dolls..hahaha. I had a dump truck and john deer tractor. I also had my own go-cart, and loved to climb trees and play in the mud. I wasn't such a girly girl.:D

I lived next door to a girl who had everything, in fact, there were two girls and so they had two of everything, including a big Barbie dollhouse and all the necessary accessories, cars, friends and clothes.

I didn't have all those things, but I had a father who was a carpenter and an older brother who brought home tile and carpet samples from his job. The local five and dime sold 11 1/2" dolls that were like Barbie and they cost $1. They also sold small skeins of yarn and fabric remnants.

With a box, some bits of carpet and tile, a few blocks of wood covered in fabric and glued together to make couches and tables, you can make a fairly nice dollhouse. And with the yarn, you can knit your Maddie Mod doll a few clothes. My dollhouse may not have been as impressive as the store-bought one, but I think that I enjoyed it more because I created it. I think I had more fun making the furniture and decorating the box to look like a house than I ever could have had just moving Barbie around inside her perfect, plastic pink mansion.

You will like your creation for the same reason, it will be something you made and it will bring you more happiness because of it.

I didn't have a doll house but I did have a house for my Barbies.And I had a house for my Fisher Price Little People.The Barbie house was like a dorm but it was made of plastic. The Fisher Price was a real house and it had little furniture. But the type of doll house you are talking about I never had.

Yes, I had a doll house, my dad built it. It was much like the Barbie doll houses we see today. You could open it up. It was on hinges. Dad made it out of very light materials, and it was all painted and wall papered. He made made a little bed for my doll, and he made a lot of doll furniture. We were kind of poor, but dad always was able to make stuff. Dad was a house builder... he even built a playhouse for my daughter when she was little.

I had a metal one growning up, but really didn't do too much with it.

I did make one for my neice. When my bro moved to CO, I drove up and got it. I have it in my shed should she ever want it back.

I have got a woodenhouse from my friend as my birthday gift. It is made coffee wood and with a winnower in front of the door. It is beautiful. I like it very much and I put it on my desk all the time. I hope I can live in such a beautiful house in some village one day! But it is just a dream for me as I live in China, and there are so many people here. I wonder what kind of house I can own when I graduate from my university!

I've never had a real doll house as a kid. I usually had to make pretend ones out of empty soda boxes. But I didn't mind that, it gave me a chance to use my imagination more.

I never had one.
But I always wanted to have one doll house.
I dreamt of it.
But may be my parents could not afford it at that time.

Hi, When I was young I had a barbie dream house. I loved my barbie doll house until my spoiled cousin who always had the best of the best things rich Parents brought her this doll house that was magnificant and very realistic looking it was beautiful the people who went into the doll house were even realistic looking tiny people. This house made my Barbie dream house look cheap and useless. Her house had everything from tiny little copper candle holder, a fireplace, real wool tiny little fancy rugs, a leatherlike couch, wood beds and dressers, tiny little iron and board, the house had a nice white pickette fence on the outside with shutters on the windows windows opened and closed it was cool. She still has her doll house amd the assesories she passed it down to her Daugther. She was offered alot of money for her doll house before she had her Daugther she declined because it is a beautiful classic.
