We love to go away on vacation and meet new people and see new sights. My husband is always happy when our plane is close to home. I always wish my holiday had been longer. Are you glad to get home after a long break? What do you look forward to when you are returning home?

I don't actually go and travel on vacations usually, but occasionally some event will call me a little further from home than usual. The time spent away may be fun, but there is something about nearing home after even just one long day that automatically causes relaxation. Just knowing you will be in your own home where you can kick back and relax, feels wonderful. Trips home usually seem shorter than trips to places, don't you think?
Of course, my ideal vacation would be to have everyone else go somewhere and I get to stay home alone. Now, that would be peaceful and relaxing!

Yes it always seems the trip home is shorter. Even when its a 24 hour plane trip, lol. I look forward to coming home to Nath and I used to love seeing Sandy all excited to see us back, She wouldnt talk to us for days before we left. Now how does a dog know these things?
I know what you mean about being home alone, that would be wonderful.
I think Im like my Mum, when we enjoyed a holiday some place we just wanted to stay forever.

Pretty much all of my vacations over the last 13 years have had to be to my husband's family home. The longest time we stayed there was 3 weeks and when I walked through my front door I was immediately overcome with memories of how much I love my home. I don't like staying in other people's homes. I don't feel comfortable.
Sometimes I will visit someone's home just for a gathering and I will go back to my house and think how much I love it compared to the one I was just at. I would rather not leave home for vacation (which is why my husband has been visiting his family on his own for the last couple of years).
However, we did have the opportunity to go to Orlando for a week and found that a week just wasn't long enough. In fact, I didn't want to return home to the ringing phones and such. I loved the peaceful and fun time I had with just my husband and kids.
I think it depends on the nature of the vacation.
