It is an alarming fact that we all should learn why fresh water supply running low.
It is amazing to know that Antartica has 75% of fresh water as it is far away from countries where human beings are living.
We can live without food for a whole month, but without drinking water human body gets exhausted and there is possibility of meeting death in a week’s time.
According to United Nations survey a person needs 50 liters of water for drinking ,washing, cooking and sanitation daily. The people who live in country like India will not have this amount of water access to.The rivers and lakes are being used for agriculture and other purposes. When these reservoirs become dry, digging take place to finish the underground water . According to the scientists this world will face a very big scarcity of water supply within 25 years.
Some areas in our city near the sea shore gives salt water when bores are digged after the dryness in wells. People are shocked and they are aware that ground water is scarce and hence sea water occupies that place and forced to use salt water.
Towing icebergs to get fresh water supply from Antarctica remains not implemented from 1970.
The scientists and researches time to time advice the world that we should be careful in using water and new methods are suggested such as saving rain water, can be used by recycling. We happily ignore these valuable suggestions.
Now I know why I am told to conserve water. Do you know?

Yes I know about water and the additional information I read from your notes. Water is life and each one must conserve. Really, sometimes i ignore saving water, but I tried my best todo that at home and in the office. Ive seen one of our water reservoir and the trees surrounding it that helps the water at its level. In the province we use rain water and preserve, we have large water container made of drums and sometimes we built our storage made of cement which we use for our daily chores and in watering plans. Here in the city, we usually dont use the shower to take a bath, but use the plastic drums and small container in taking a bath. We wash our dishes using small basin instead of directly cleaning thru water from the faucet.
Perhaps the government should do something to convert salt water to potable water (I just cannot recall which state but I read that they already come up on how to)

Water is precious and we have to care while using this precious natural resource. Now getting pure water to drink is the major problem faced by common people.Everything is contaminated by the wrong practice of man.It is the duty of each person to save this resources for the next generation. We can solve the scarcity of water by storing the rain water by making large ponds and wells.Recycling is another method. If we can recycle sea water, which is available in plenty, then we can solve the scarcity of water. Now every one depending on bottled water from the market.

What I don't understand with this is that we should know how to take salt water and make it drinkable. Being in the Navy and being on a ship that's how we got our drinking water. So I don't know why we and do this. Now for the places further away from the oceans it's harder. My family lives on a property that has a natural spring, even with our water shortage problems, they always have plenty of water.
When it was really hot, I would collect water that dripped out from our ac unit and use it to water my flowers and plants. In a day's time I could collect enough to fill up a 50 lb bucket. We are suppose to get some rain soon, I plan on using my plastic icecream buckets to collect water to add to the bigger bucket. So I will have water for a few extra days.

this is a reality most people do not yet realize. Water is such a basic alement that we need to take care of. Even in our country. who ever did think that water will be sold in bottles back about 2 decades ago? However as long as there is water supply people tend ti ignore the fact that is is running low

Yes you are right.I know that fresh water is one of the most scarece resource. What we are going to do without water. It is really scary & to think seriously it is very scary situation.I wonder what we are going to give to the future generation as we are really misusing our resources.

I am aware of this. I think there need to be more desalination plants. More efficiency needs to come from government water works.

My area is not on water restrictions although we are habitually low (high Arizona desert). Nonetheless, I've put a lidded jar of water in my toilet tank to prevent water waste. Toilets are big users of water. My landlord has a wasteful one installed in my apartment, but as a renter, I can't do anything about it, just do something to mitigate the waste.

I've no garden or anything like that. My potted plants get water. If I boil potatoes, I let the water cool and water them with that. Essence of spud will kill nothing.

I'm really concern about fresh water. In Jakarta and some big cities in Indonesia, household are starting harder to get clean water. I remembered the case when I lived in Surabaya. The water pump the we used everyday poured out brown water. The tap water was mixed with mud and very dirty. All the citizens have complained about this but seems like nobody care. They said, actually the water is not for standard consumption anymore, something related to the grade. Below grade B if I'm not mistaken. Don't know what it means.
Now, I take mineral waters everyday everywhere I go. This kind of condition really come into a disaster if all the people is not aware of the fresh water supply. It's starting harder to get clean and fresh water this days.
To all friends who read this post.. Please conserve water. We really need it..
Have a nice day.
