Among all the movies you've watched so far, which do you find most disturbing and why? Please include the director, if possible.

41. pagli84 (1695) | 3 years ago | i think the one that comes to mind at the moment is "hostel." i checked it out because i thought it would be a scary movie, but it wasnt really scary at all. instead, it was quite disturbing! it was just disgusting, and the thought of something like that happening is so disturbing. but it certainly wasnt a movie that kept me up to night or anything. another disturbing movie is "the exorcist." that movie was just freaky! i wish they edited out all the boring parts though because the rest could make it a really scary movie, but it just has too much downtime.

acmepride (759) | 3 years ago | I would tend to agree with you that both movies were indeed disturbing, pagli84.
Thanks a lot for your valuable contribution to this discussion and Happy myLotting!;)

42. Ravenladyj (18010) | 3 years ago | I'd go through the other 5 pages of replies but I just dont have it in me right now (though I'm sure I will tomorrow)...this is a difficult question for me for two reasons...what others most likely consider "disturbing" isnt to me...For example movies like 8MM, Hostel, Strangeland etc really dont disturb me in fact I LOVE movies like that! LOL but thats just me..Movies that I DO find disturbing others may not...I don't however find them disturbing in the sense of "eew thats gross"..I find them disturbing because they are based on REAL LIFE/TRUE STORIES and to know that the (bad) ppl like what are shown in these movies exist or that the situations show really happened.. disturbs, upsets and/or bothers me to know end...Some of those flicks would be
Soldiers Girl Boys Don't Cry Hotel Rwanda Girl Interrupted Laramie Project Monster Ghosts of Missippi Missippi Burning Gia Party Monster (which is actually pretty funny but the true story behind it is sad)
and the list goes on.....

acmepride (759) | 3 years ago | Among the movies you consider disturbing, Ravenladyj, I was only able to watch Boys Don't Cry, Hotel Rwanda, Laramie Project, and Gia.
Could you kindly share to us the directors of the other disturbing films you've mentioned, if possible, and if it would not cause you any inconvenience, could you please likewise provide a very brief background for each film?
Thanks a lot in advance and Happy myLotting!;)

44. kgwat70 (10106) | 3 years ago | I would have to say the most disturbing movie that I have seen so far is Kill Bill Series. There is too much bloodshed for me and my stomach to take. It is too gruesome. I only saw the first one and that was too much for me to watch. Schindlers List was another movie that was very disturbing to me and could not watch the whole movie.
| |
| |
|
|
acmepride (759) | 3 years ago | You could definitely say that about Kill Bill and Schindler's List, kgwat70.
Thanks a lot for your fine post and Happy myLotting!;)

45. chintoo07 (3208) | 3 years ago | Hello my friend acmepride Ji, I had a chance to see that great picture 'MERA NAM JOKAR' directed by great showman of Indian Cinema 'RAJ-KAPOOR'. It is a great picture, which has been disturbing me that how a person can remain under cool and idle condition, when he knows that his mother had expired, it is simply contradicting in one's feeling. It allows one to overcome feelings. Even to start with salient love for a student towards his teacher is yet disturbing, how staudent can have that kind of love towards his teacher. It is a great picture, showing multi aspects of our lives. have a nice time.

acmepride (759) | 3 years ago | Based on your appreciation of that particular movie alone, chintoo07, I could easily see how perplexing it really actually is.
If I may ask, though, is this film's spoken language in English? If not, is its subtitles in English?
Thanks a lot in advance and Happy myLotting!;)

46. mesmerized (755) | 3 years ago | i was just flipping channels when i came across star movies. the film just started, so i decided to watch it. i didn't see the title, much less the director or the actors' names. the movie was about a girl who's doing her thesis. she chose the topic of cannibalism. (there was a popular event of cannibalism a few years back, so she had a specific one.) she joined the forums, and did a lot of research. and finally she got a copy of the video showing how a man ate another man. with the 2nd guy actually agreeing to that disgusting act. it was really horrible. the last scene showed the man, logging onto the forums and saying, "running out of meat. going to get some more."
i started crying. (i'm feeling pretty teary-eyed right now, just talking about it.) i was thinking, how depressed could someone be, to actually walk to his death? to actually volunteer on how and when it will be done? i cried so hard i wasn't able to see the credits.

acmepride (759) | 3 years ago | That film seems really intriguing, mesmerized.
I would just try to see the list of star movies and, hopefully, I could find a movie that would fit the one that you've just described so that I could eventually watch it.
Thanks for your participation and Happy myLotting, mesmerized!;)

| 49. mmmartin54 (88) | 3 years ago | I watch a lot of scary/creepy/gory movies. So I don't get grossed out or jump that easily. But I will admit the SAW movies do it to me. I just don't like them. I find them disturbing. Mostly because of the almost reality to it. If real people where actually put into those types of situations, they might very well act like that.

| |
|
|
acmepride (759) | 3 years ago | I must say that I would tend to agree with your view, mmmartin54.

50. mkcallejo (256) | 3 years ago | The japanese film entitled "doppelganger." It is really disturbing because of its eccentric and incoherent flow of story. I find it really weird. I wonder if most japanese films are like this.
