It is so easy to make a bathroom curtain!

My bathroom color theme is light peach and my husband's is medium green, so when we found an off-white linen like fabric that had green leaves and white flowers with peach accents, we got enough for both bathrooms and I sewed my liner out of peach and his from green. I used cotton/polyester (sheeting) for the inside panels. The colors make a difference in how we feel about the space. His green is crisp and refreshing...invigorating would be his word. My color is peaceful and relaxing and gives the whole space a soft glow.
All it takes to make a shower curtain is some fabric you like with a hem at the top and buttonholes all the way across, and a hem at the bottom. If needed, a couple of weights can be sewn at either side into the bottom hem. I actually never sewed my own before, but now that I realize how easy it is to get just what we want, I'll probably never buy them ready-made again.
What about you? Have you ever had a hard time finding fabric accessories that were just right for your bathroom? How did you solve that problem?
What colors do you like best in your bathroom? If you share the space do you and your family members agree on the color? Please describe your bathroom decorations and add photos, of course, if you have some that would be appropriate to share.

It's just me in this house, so the bathroom is all mine. I "made" a shower curtain from a table cloth. I just folded it over the rod and used embroidery thread to tie it on every few inches. It's cream with embroidered flowers - goes very well with the tan walls.

Another cream shower curtain with flowers. Lovely! Ours have more leaves than flowers to keep hubby's bathroom from looking too dainty, but there are flowers among the leaves. Tablecloth material sounds just right for a shower curtain. I actually bought a new bed sheet to cut down for my liner, as it was a nicer wrinkle-free fabric and much less expensive than the same amount of fabric from a fabric store. Not to mention there isn't a fabric store within 100 miles of our home now that Wal-Mart quit selling yard goods.

What a great idea. That sounds easy enough that even I could do it. I need a new liner. My cat climbed it the other day and shredded a big part of it. I'm going to look for remanants this weekend at wal-mart. Thanks for the great idea.

Your Wal-Mart still carries fabric? Ours shut the yard goods department down last winter--right after I bought a new sewing machine, too! If they have it, that is the place to get curtain fabric. Then, too, tablecloths and sheets are also inexpensive sources of good shower curtain fabric. I wanted to try the buttonhole foot on my new machine for mine, but I also thought of using a little do-it-yourself grommet kit for the hanging holes.
What can I say? Curtains are expendable, but kitties are not!

I like pastels and florals, my husband is oblivious. Downstairs I have a floral window curtain and floral shower curtain, both homemade. I have a border that is at mid level that is English cottages, brooks and greenery. Upstairs I made a periwinkle blue topper from a twin size sheet to go with some sea shell themed tiers in my very small window. The shower curtain is a frosted clear vinyl, and I used craft paint on it to go along with the theme of the curtains. My kids were thoroughly impressed when they were still at home. I have always been a do it yourself type person. I have framed old nautical and ocean themed prints from magazines for that room.

Your ocean theme sounds wonderful. I love periwinkle blue. Twin size sheets are so handy! My husband pretends to hate "matching" stuff, but in reality, he finds it comforting and loves his bathroom after I personalized it for him. It is so great to learn more things day by day that we can do ourselves.

I love the touch of green curtains too.
Our bathroom curtain is a polyester which we bought at a very affordable price. I think most of our family member does not really care about the colors.
Finding a curtain is never easy for me especially that I often go for the cheap but elegant ones. I am still lucky to find one in our place every time I look for one.

You are lucky to have found what you wanted on the shelf. We have been fortunate in finding towels and rugs, but the shower curtains eluded us until lately. We did find better curtain rings on half-price sale, however. Hubby likes them better than his old ones. Thanks for stopping by! This photo shows the curtain rings better, and my beloved flower fairy trinket that we found in a scratch and dent bin many years ago.

Thanks for the effort of trying to load the picture of your curtain. Its not meant for me to see I guess. LOL. Yes I am lucky enough to find a curtain that fits to my taste. The colors sometimes affects my mood.
