Clixsense Payments

I've been paid from Clixsense. Of course you'd think that was a good thing. But, my bank won't accept the cheque because they said they have to send it off for negotiation (which is a bit silly because if they want to know the exchange rate, they can type it into a computer in seconds) so anyway, it would, apparently, cost more to do all this than the value of the cheque itself. The bank suggested I go to American Express. Once I got there, I was told they couldn't accept it either. They suggested the Money Shop so I might try there but I wasn't going to wait in a queue that was trailing out the door just to be told that they can't help either.
So, basically, is there anyone in England who has recieved payment from Clixsense and, if so, where did you go to cash it?

I might try the Post Office. I didn't think of that. I tried the foreign exchange assuming they would actually be able to deal with it but they don't. They weren't much help at all.

I'm sorry but I don't understand:/ What negotiation are you talking about? I always thought that with this kind of checks you give it to the bank then bank send it back to US then they accept it, send the money and you recive your check. In Poland it costs about 3-4 dollars if amount is less that $50.

I have no idea what the negotiations are all about. That is what the bank said. The cheque is only for $8 which is less than £4 and the bank said it would cost more than that to do whatever they need to do with it.
