Rising cost of gas

We left this past thursday to go to my daughter's and gas here was 2.85 a gallon, on the way it cost more or the same as here and when we got back home yesterday it had gone up 10 cents a gallon. PITIFUL. I for one don't think there is anyway it should be up there like that.
As for Christmas, it will not effect me since we stay home and the one daughter who lives out of town always comes here for the holiday.

It will affect mine. I have to keep gas in my cars do to my husband being a vol. fireman. So he needs it to help people if need be. I try and buy just one big gift for my husband and daughter to enjoy. Last year it was two gifts. But this year it will be just one. So I am going to try and not spend to much money.

Yes you are right the cost of gas, petrol and diesal has gone so much high that it is real difficult to manage. I remember the time when i first purchased a scooter in 1992 at that time petrol was only INR 13 and now it is near to INR 51. Infact with this increase of cost people are still purchasing vehicle without thinking of increase in cost.

We generally have fairly small Christmas's anyway so it won't affect that really. What it has affeted is our savings. We used to have a little left over after each paycheck, but after the last payheck we ended up with $8...we did have a few small unexpected expenses but it still gives you an idea of how close it's getting for us.

Yes, p.a. L.,the rising cost of gas has caused a lot of changes here in Texas!
Christmas won't affect me any, because I spend the same amount every year, no matter what!
I got rid of all my credit cards, so I won't have to worry about that!
Travel has changed for me, I've had to cut down on my long trips to see relatives, and my short trips to see my kids and grandkids!
I got rid of two vehicles that use a lot of gas, and just kept one,because it hauls my music equipment! And now I'm in the process of looking for a small car with a small engine, to do all my running around in, I've even considered buying a motorcycle!
And personally, I think that the high cost of fuel is only the beginning, I'm preparing a little in advance of some more troublesome economic storms!
Oh, and the football games, they have just gotten way too expensive for me to pay that much! I'll just have to settle watching the Rangers play, I can still afford those games!

It is getting harder out there with the price of gas rising. I live in Australia and the interest rates are rising along with gas. I don't drive a car, I drive a scooter. Which has helped cut down cost considerably. However I haven't notice that much of a difference with the price of gas going up.

I still buy the things I want and I don't think it will effect my christmas spending. I will still by stuff for my family and friends!

In china,gas price has risen 10% recently which cost 5.09 rmb per liter now.(2.58$ per gallon).This price does not include fuel tax.
Fortunatley,I do not have a car or even a scooter.But I am planning to buy one...
I puzzled whether should I buy a car in future.

i agree that the cost of the gas had risen quite significantly and i also feel the effect of it... but thank God so far it doesn't really affect us much... we just have to cut expenses in other areas and use our money more wisely... as for our christmas shopping, me and my hubby haven't started yet... so we don't really know how much we will be affected by it... recently, we are hit by intrest rise... 3 times already so far... it hurts us more than the rise of the fuel...

We’ve heard stories about the refineries that have been affected by Hurricane Rita and Katrina, along with other statistical reasons for these soaring gasoline prices. No doubt most citizens are greatly affected by the explosion of the increase in gasoline per gallon and are not happy about it either. We are also hearing reports about some gas stations experiencing “drive offs” (people filling up and leaving without paying). Even if we don’t agree with the extremity of the gasoline prices, we must be mindful that “drive-offs” affect the employees of these establishments and their families. In all due respect, they really have no authority over these gasoline regulations and it takes money out of their pockets.
