|  Here's a photo of my beagle BUSTER. He loves the soft warm blanket so I could not make the bed this morning as he was usuing it. Now most know I am my fathers caregiver. he is due home this weekend from the nursing home. He has always fed Buster table scraps including deserts and candy. UGHH! GRR!! hahahaha! Since dad has been gone for almost 6 weeks Buster has lost weight and is very active ands fit as compared to when he balooned from the table scraps etc. I am setting my foot down with dad as far as his feeding Buster anything other than a couple of his doggie treats. I have not been feeding him table scraps but a couple times since dads been gone. My Buster loves Purina's Beggin' Strips. He has to do a few tricks to get these also. He also loves any type of milk bone type treats. I have been on a regimine of 4 treats tops and usually he gets 2 a day only. Questions as follw.... Do you feed your pets table scraps? Do you mix them with his food at that time or not? Does your dog have any faves as far as treats? Share please?

| |  Our dog, Ivan, is a Chihuahua, and he is a bit over weight. He is so heavy! His problem is he likes people food. I make pancakes once a week and he gets his with a tad of butter and honey.. not much. He used to like scrambled eggs, but he has kind of gone off wanting eggs. He likes those cheese nips. We have to lay off that stuff though because he is getting heavy. He doesn't like not getting as much treats and he doesn't like eating his dog food.

VERY overweight to the point where she had to be carried down
3 steps to fo outside for her bathroom duties and or exercisre.
She dies of old age at 14 years old in human age. Pancakes
make me FAT. HAHAHAHA!!

| |  My dogs only get one bite each once we are all done with our food and we are no longer at the table. They get their bite (treats) in the living room and only if they sit or lay. I only feed them hard dog food that is lamb and rice.
My best friend (my dog) that died last year was 21 years old so, I feel I'm doing the right thing for my dogs.

| | Lamb? Hee hee. My wife works at a Middle Eastern Restaraunt and
brings home a leg of lamb bone for Buster a lot. He will sit
outside in 30 below temps till he has gnawed that bone to pieces.
Hee hee. Buster has only had hard dog food all his life.
Never canned food yet.

| |  Hi again Grandpa Bob,
I do not own a dog, but a friend of mine does.
They give him all the table scraps, are always feeding him human chocolates and biscuits (cookies). From what I have read and heard human chocolate is the worse thing you can give a dog.
I have tried to tell them but all they say is he likes it.
I am so glad Buster has been able to lose weight, because it is unhealthy for him to be overweight, same as us humans.
You will have to put your foot down when your dad comes home, in a nice way though.

taste maybe once or twice a year as it's not good for him. Now I
am concerned Buster will be getting fat again when dad returns.

| |  Buster is soooo cute! Im always giving my girls Maggie and Molly treats. So much that they arent eating their dry food. They just want treats. I wish I never started that bad habit of giving them treats. And dont give Buster any sugar thats really bad for him. If I gave sugar to my cats they would die from it.

| | Buster knows his treat times I have set. he gets one during the day. Then he is anxious as all heck when we return at night from getting my wife from her work. he is wating at the door dancing like mad that fat butt wiggling. HAHAHA! He runs into the office as that's where I keep the bags/boxes of his treats. He gets to finish off my wife's oatmeal in the morning sometimes as a breakfast treat. No sugar just honey added. he loves his "fiber" treat. HAHAHA! Thanks.

| |  I don't have any dogs anymore, but we have had a couple of doggies that we made food for. That is we made up "stews" out of leftovers to spice up the dog's life.
It has to be boring to be a dog and face the same bowl of food every day lol. You gotta mix it up for the poor thing. Desserts and candy were not on the menu for our dogs though I gotta say.

| |  well when i use to have a dog we would give him some table food only once in awhile though,i didnt want to make a habit out of it,now i have a cat and he doesnt cat anything but cat food,treats etc.hes only 5 months old though.pattie buster is so cute by the way.

| | When we had our cat we fed him some type of cat treats as well. I can't recall the brand name. But I researched the ingedients online and found out one ingredient was a form of speed. So we knew why our cat went ballistic running around like crazy after eating a few. We quit giving her so many after that. One a day was her limit of her "legal drugs". Hee hee hee. Buster is adorable. he just visited me in the computer room and I'll have a discussion soon about that. HAHAHA!

| |  My wife gets upset when i feed my 3 chihuahua dogs scrapes from the table but I am no a scared of her so i will continue my evil ways I thought time flew by quickly but it seems your dad has been arriving for weeks and everytime I read a post it seems he is not here.My wife spends hours (it seems) every day preparing the dogs meals but that is her thing and i am too busy curling or responding on mylot to really care Thanks for sharing Good Luck

| |  When I had my Reggie I was horrible...he was so into treats that he could jump up and catch popcorn. He actually shared most of my dinners but was never really overweight. I walked him daily so that kept his weight down and also he was very hyper...he was such a good dog!

just hand motions for his treats. I taught him well. I can't train
him to roll over though yet. I'm working on that one though.When my daughter gave him to us he didn't know any tricks.

| | That's cute. If my wife is home and I yell at Buster he runs to her lap as if I won't do anything to him. Of course I let him believe he is safe there as it's our fun routine. We laugh at his actions. He stares at me with those sad eyes then lies his head on her lap as if to say, "HAHA!! You can't yell or hurt me here."
