If you had to pick, which actor is your favorite Bogart, Cagney or Edward G. Robinson? My pick is Bogart. He was good as a gangster, anti hero, or even a romantic lead.

I liked Bogart. He was really good in 'To have and have not" and also in "The Big Sleep" they were my favorites, and when he was with Laura Bacall in that scene where she was in his office and her leg felt a little itchy and she asked if she could scratch it. You could see the chemistry there and you knew that they were really in love.

What about the Whistle scene in To Have And Have Not? Classic.

Bogart.....like you said he was convincing in any part. robinson was too gruff and so if he tried any other charater the gruffness stuck with him...Cagney was okay too. I think part of why I love Bogie was because of his relationship with Lauren Bacall.....she loved him dearly!

Bogart. No contest. Especially in two of the world's all time most best greatest movies; "Casablanca" and "To Have and Have Not"! Funny thing is, any time anyone asks me what is my favorite movie, or even one of my favorites, I never think of either of those! Well, I never think of much of anything for that matter... my mind usually goes blank, and the only thing I can think of is Johnny Depp.
