Singing preference classical, sacred, or popular

When you are alone and want to turn on the radio, do you go for the one with the classical sacred and opera singers or do you go for the ones with the popular singers. Do you choose the singer because of his or her popularity and image or for their ability to sing? I love opera, sacred, and classical and I am interested in their voice. I find that the old popular singers were quite good because they had lessons and can really sing without belting, like Elvis, and Bobby Darin. There was also a female singer who died tragically young, I forget her name but she sang a love song. I like Pavarotti, Reneta Tebaldi, Rene Fleming, and most tenor and sopranos.

I know most of them, but I am not acquainted with Freddie Mercury. I will have to look for some of his songs online. Now if I can get past without the RIAA finding out. :)

I go for classical and poplular love songs. And little of upbeat music. It really depends on my mood or the occasions. Mostly, if I am alone and doing something, I listen to love songs. Whatever, either be a classical or popular ones.

I love classical and the old love songs. I was watching "High Society" and they had that old love song, "True Love" that I remember when I was a kid.

I have not heard Mario Lanza for years and I like Willie Nelson, Roy Osbourn, and used to listen to Tom Jones all the time. We do have an oldies station here but it is in AM not in FM which is what I prefer.

I don't listen to the radio, but I like songs that I can match my voice to. It feels good singing them. I have to say that I love all music, all the ones you mentioned.

I like songs that are high, I cannot sing that low. Like lot of the popular songs are too low for me.

I sing anything from classics.. to Disney to Broadway to Marilyn manson... to cartoon themes. It all depends on my mood at the time. I love everything except for rap or country (and there are even exceptions to that) so it really depends on mood.

I can sing O Mio Babbino Caro quite well, and there is another classic opera aria that I am quite good at but I have to have the words before me. I hate rap and I love some country but only if they are good singers.

Hi Suspenseful, hope you still love me after I tell you that I am one who needs hard driving rock and roll. I actually listen to Mettalica, MxPx, Avenge Sevenfold and Kuttless of course. Though I would love to experience at least one good opera, preferably one with a plot of sorts. But I'm afraid I would love a good ole rock opera without a problem.

When I am alone and want to turn on the radio, I prefer to listen to jazz, soul, r&b, orchestra, and the likes. I also like old classics that are slow in beat. These type of music relaxes, inspire, and just basically make my day. I don't choose the singer because of her or his popularity. I choose the singer based on how well I like her/his voice or the way he/she interprets a song.

I like good singers, not the one who shout their songs, but those whom I know have taken training. You can always tell who they are, they are the ones whose popularity has not declined and when you see then on Tv you think, "Are they that old? Why their voices are so young and they sing so good!"

I like popular music much more .As to the opera singers, I am afraid I don't understand it. Classical is fine and I also have classical music albums at home.

Anything written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and/or sung by Sarah Brightman will do, although I usually prefer to work in silence.

I like Andrew Lloyd Webber and I have heard a couple of Sarah Brightman's songs. I do not like listening to music while I am writing or on myLot either.

My favourite music is western. I can listen to country music all day long. I have the country station on in my car, on my kitchen radio and on my bedroom radio. Almost all of my cd's are country. I also like the soft rock from the 80's and 90's. I don't like any of the rap music the kids love, today. I don't like the head banger hard rock music either. I like soft music like Shania Twain and Celine Dion.

I love mostly classical and opera singers. I am trying to find a good music station on line and I found one, but was unfamiliar with the opera that was on at that time.
