Anyone had their tubes tied and still got pregnant ?  

Oh dear! I hope this doesnt' happen to me! I Don't really want three kids, two will be good enough for me, when they start to outnumber the parents it gets scary for me!

well i have 2 kids of my own and that is plenty in my house but i also have 3 stepkids. they are amazing you learn to adjust to having all of them. But im not feeling that great these days and i had my tubes tied clipped and burned while i was having a c section. i will tell ya that if you have had a previous its alot more painful when u have your tubes tied and burned at the same time but obviously if they are in there might as well get it done at the same time. but i have had some pelvic pain and painful periods also which i never had before. so i guess there is ups and downs . but i definetly do NOT want anymore children i think 5 is plenty for us. so good luck to all who want more and reversals. You know, a vasectomy is a whole lot easier than tubal ligation. It has become more popular than tubal ligation as well. And for God's sakes, haven't women put their bodies through enough! It's time for the man to feel a little pain. ;)

Actually a tubal ligation (blockage) is easier and faster and less painful than a vasectomy or a ligation.

Well i'm having the c section anyways, so i'll already be open and ready for the snippy snip. Hubby says NO WAY to the scissors. lol i think he thinks he'll be less of a man or something.

I think every man I know, friends, neighbours and relatives have all had the snip snip. It's not that big of a deal.

But if i have to take birth control ANYWAYS, then what is the point of going through the proceedure you see ? I want my tubes tied so that i dont HAVE to use any sort of protection, cause besides condoms, which are not very romantic, most have bad side effects and/or cause some sort of health problems!

I too got my tubes tied, but I am also on the pill seasonelle (spelling?) which is the one that makes you have a period every 3 months instead of every month. I have PCOS so when I get my visit it is HORRID so the less visits the better!

I know that they will DO it at this hospital, i am just wondering if they will do it RIGHT lol. The birthing unit where i live is actually closed right now, and is supposed to reopen in january, I am due in april. So i'm HOPING it opens so i dont have to travel to another town as i dont drive nor does my hubby.

Well i am getting on and age, and i think that two kids is enough for me, and my hubby has three all together. We couldnt possibly afford anymore kids lol. I will be sure to ask about all the options i have when talking to my dr.

Good luck with that. i agree, i am 29 and don't really want more kids but I used to have the option of getting pregnant. that was the negative. the positive is that I am not getting a surprise every month just a normal period!! hope it goes well for you!!

Hi! my name is rachel and before i was born, my mom had her tubes tied and burned, and then 11 months later i was born. There are only a few rare cases where this happens.

I had my tubes cut, tied and burned 2 years ago after having my 3rd child via c-section. I just found out a week ago that I am 6 weeks pregnant (in the uterus). My doctor said that in 15 years he has only seen 1 other woman get pregnant after this procedure, but it CAN happen!! I am 30 and did not want anymore children. When I asked to have the sterilization, I was very clear with the doctor that I did not want to worry about having anymore children. He assured me that there was almost no chance, but nothing is 100%. Please don't make the same mistake I did and use some other form of birth control if you do not want to get pregnant.

hi mullen, i've had the procedure 2 and a half years now, and i haven't gotten pregnant yet, i think they done mine good.. ;P for a few months i was really sad i didnt' have the option to have more kids, incase we were stable finacially to have more babies, but then, i realized.. if i have another baby at 30, for the sake of having one.. that's a lil selfish.. considering i have two children already, and at 30 - 35 the increase in complications rises significantly from what i've heard.. and i have two normal healthy children, i'm blessed and happy with my family i have ;)

hey, i am 38 and my youngest son is now 16 i had my tubes tied when he was born in 1994... in 2007 i got pregnant... i was happy cuz i actually wanted my new blessing.. from God .. but i lost the baby in my 12th week... i listened to my but of a husband then and had that depo shot and it messed my periods up bad... i actually want to have another baby with my new husband.... and i cry and am heart broken that i havent gotten prego since 2007.... and its now 2011... i pray every day that God will allow me to get prego agian soon cuz i am almost 40 now...

wow that would have been hard to deal with.. be happy that you are pregnant and then finally only to find out that you where going to misscarry.
