is it suitable for a book8?  

I think seven was fine and the way Rowling has ended it has been good. I would definitely not want to see another book in the series. As it is the series is a classic and the fact that it is over is a bit sad, but it rather be a great series as it is rather than having more unnecessary extensions to the same.

Just like you, I'm a Harry Potter avid reader myself! But having read all 7 books already, I think if J.K Rowling would release a book 8, in my opinion, would make it look as if nothing would be left to the imagination. You see, the way it ended in book 7 was like settled already. You think?

i am a HP fan as well and i think it would be very stupid if she made an 8th book because after voldamort died.

I read that with the success of the last harry potter and the large amount of money for the auction of the Tales of Beedle the Bard... J.K. Rowling is contemplating on a Harry Potter eight but not in the near future but after 10 years... and the story will no longer revolve on Harry but another wizard...

Well, i think that will help add to the thrill... ten years of waiting... that is a long time... but i will still wait for it...

I think that seven books is an appropriate for the series considering the importance given to '7' and also the fact that JK Rowling was rapidly running out of ideas (eg - she couldnt write much about quidditch in 6th book) and though even i am a crazy harry potter fan but i guess it is always better for a fan to be left WANTING FOR MORE isnt it??

I hope that she doesn't write any more books about Harry. I think that she ended it in just the right way, and anything added to it now would just be trying to make more money, not an attempt to tell more of Harry's story. I would hope that she will eventually do the encyclopedia of the wizarding world that she has mentioned several times. That would definitely make for some fascinating reading. And if, as someone says, she does another series about a different wizard, that might be worth reading as well.

hi there! a year after JKR released the final book, i read all of em again for the nth time, including the version written by fans.. and after doing so, yes , i think 7 books about harry potter and voldemort is enough.. but i hope she rights another book about the 3rd gen wizards and witches *their sons and daughters*, and i hope she includes a witch from our country, then she/he will be called "mambabarang".. hehehe.. just kidding. .

It wouldn't ruin the thrill, although i understand what u are saying. I wanna read more about Harry. For all us Harry Potter fans, I always heard of Charlie Bone and thought i'd never read it, but then my mom bought me a copy and I really liked it. It's not really like Harry Potter, but u can see some resemblances. It's a little less adultish than Harry seeing that each book only covers a few weeks in Charlie's life. But it's worth reading.

I think that the Harry Potter story has been told, and told well. However, like Star Trek, if JK Rowling wanted to write a 'Next Generation' series, I would be right in line at Barnes and Noble to buy the first book. LOL.

I can't even imagine writing one, let alone, seven large books the way she did so I couldn't blame her for never writing again. But hey, let's hope its in her blood and she just can't quit.

i think Harry's story is over. the way she ended the last book was an end to it all. i think that if she made another book about Harry it would ruin the finality of it all and we would always just think of the last one as just an 'add-on' it wouldnt feel like part of the story. i do think that it would be cool if she waited a few years and then wrote about their children. who knows what adventures await Harry Potter's children right?
