I have moved about a million times in the last four years. Okay, not quite that bad, rather seven times in four years. This coupled with the fact that we haven't had a lot of money and now my mom lives with us so all of us are squished into a small space means that my home decor is no where near what I want it to be. I hate our living room furniture, but still feel blessed that we have it since it was given to us. But even more then that, I hate our bedroom. It is crowded and feels like it is squeezing in on me. There is lots of large furniture that needs to go in here to keep all of us here.

That is the reason you hate your furniture is because someone gave it to you. I love my decor because I hand selected every peace and I went to every store to find the perfect accessories and my husband painted and plastered everything in my color schemes so I love it.

I love my home decor. It consists of mismatched furniture, unevenly spaced pictures of my family on every wall, and some precious mementos of special times crowded on shelves here and there. We have a large bookshelf in the living room which is full of my books in the top half and my son's books and toys in the bottom half. It's full to capacity.
We also have a small home, and are tightly packed in, but I love it because it is home. I love to look at beautifully decorated homes in magazines, but for me to be comfortable, it needs to be less formal and more inviting.

No, I'm not. We have a large apartment, which we moved into 4.5 years back. And my husband's always been giving some sort of excuse (most of the time it's money) and I don't have the decor I would like. We have lots of stuff that we need to throw out too...but my husband doesn't even allow that. He wants to hold on to things and we have duplicates and all sorts of stuff we don't even need! Our bedroom has an old dining table in it!!!(we got a new one 2.5 years ago and since then the old one has been in the bedroom). He doesn't want to sell it or even use parts of it for things I can use (I said, we could cut off the legs and put the glass top on it and it would be a nice side table for the living area). I've given up talking about it and coming up with ideas that won't even cost money. I definitely don't like the way the house is at the moment. But I can't do much except throw away the clutter and get rid of stuff that I think he might not miss.
It's driving me crazy because I'm the one who spends the most time here. I'm waiting to get out and work next year..so atleast I won't get the excuse of money and I'll be able to put things together next year.

Yes, I am content with our home decor. We've been in the same house for 34 years and I love the location and the house itself. Most of our furniture is fairly new and really nice. Our family room is lacking furniture right now since it was given to our youngest daughter just before she was married. We never bothered to replace it.

We move a lot too and what works in one house never seems to in the next so I just do the best I can. I try to buy more traditional pieces that aren't oversized and are more neutral colors. I try to bring in color in the walls and accessories that you can get cheaper. I also try to find things that are dual purpose and have lots of storage!
Of course having small kids seems to ruin everything so I don't like to spend a lot of money on things. Why, just this morning my son wrote all over one of the only expensive things we have (leather couches) in ball point pen. I am livid and after trying all the ideas I found on-line it has not helped and I don't want to continue as the more you try, the more it ruins the leather.
