Hello dear barbiegirl. We usually slice potatoes and cook it together with some spicy pepper. Also we boil potatoes first and then fry it with some oil, adding some garlic and spicy pepper or pepper powder. You could have a try to see if you like it. Thanks.

I do something similar. I sprinkle on an Indian(asian) spice mix. Not too much just a very small amount and it gives the potatoes a more powerful taste.
When mashing, I find that yellow potatoes are best.

I used to eat mashed potatoes with butter when I was younger. Now my family has been using Cajun spices and curry powder in most of our foods we eat. The mashed potatoes with curry are so amazingly awesome. My aunt also adds a few other spices to add more heat to them.

I like potatoes any way that you can fix them. Infact We are having fried potatoes with a beef kilbosa for supper tonight. My granddaughter wants to fix them. I love mashed potatoes with some garlic and or parsley or basil. L fix them baked and topped with broccli and cheese or chili. Next time I fix mashed potatoes I will try them with the ranch dressing. That sounds pretty good.
