Implanon Removal  | |  I've felt really low and depressed since I had my implanon birth control taken out 4 days ago. I was wondering if anyone else felt like this or could relate to this as a side effect of getting this removed?

Its a very good contraceptive, but I have a depressive illness. I have just been reading about it on Google and it isn't advised for people with historys of depression only I wasn't told this when I had it put in my arm. | |

| | | 2. mistissa (1126) | 2 years ago |  I have had one and have had it removes, but I don't think it is related to your depressed and sad feelings. Because there are no hormones in implanon. Why did you get it removed? I got it removed because we wanted to have another baby.

| | | 3. Gemmygirl1 (2628) | 2 years ago |  I'm not really sure why you'd be feeling this way, i had mine removed not long ago because we were going to try for a 2nd baby - i believe mine was in for just over a year & i never felt anything like what you're feeling.
Maybe you should just speak to your Dr about it & see if he can explain it better but i can only guess it's because you now have your normal hormones back, it may take a little while for them to go back to the way they were before.
