 Am keeping track today to see exactly how many discussions I responded to and how many I started. Want to try to figure out approximately how much each post is worth. Will find out in the morning. Has anyone else tried this method and if so, what were your findings?

| carolbee (6793) | 2 years ago | Am not counting the "add comment" to an already started discussion such as this one as I don't believe we are paid for them more than once. Will post something tomorrow after the earnings is updated. Am counting the total discussions I either started or answered.
Was pretty loud out there last night. About 90 mph winds. No damage in our immediate area but the local weather forecaster advised all people in this area to sleep in their basement or the lowest part of the house. I didn't do it since we don't have a basement and didn't want to sleep in a closet...lol The cat might like that but I had no interest! | |

i am planning on doing that also and that is the only way that i can think of that it could be done. in my opinion, each different post we make here would be a different amount as well as to how long that the responses are? am i correct in saying that or not? because it says right there on the left hand side of the Mylot screen there to please be as descriptive as possible.

I have to say that it is very very true that each post is different, and I almost think they do it to keep us from figuring their algorithm that they use.
These are my past 3 days earnings with posts kept track of from the time I was awake until midnight
Saturday, January 05, 2008 $1.80 (about 90)
Sunday, January 06, 2008 $1.48(60)
Monday, January 07, 2008 $1.83(100)
so you can se that I am all over the board with earnings, and there might be some carry over from midnight when I sometimes post in there, but I figure each post from the time I start about 9am until midnight
But I can honestly say that a solid average for me is 2 cents.
When mylot says to be as descriptive as possible they mean it, so I have learned to be as descriptive as possible.

I do realize there are other variables involved but all I was attempting to do was just get an idea. Also think best responses count for something. Pretty much am hunting for a ballpark figure and that's probably what I'll get. I could ask my husband to refigure this theoretically since he's an account but he might charge me his hourly fees. That puts me behind the 8 ball....lol Thanks for responding. | |

| 6. oneandonemakesix (24038) | 2 years ago | I have mentally kept a running tab almost every month that I ahve been here, while I may not remember the exact number I started at, I have a ball park figure.
Ok as of midnight last night, I was at 12910 last night, I don't know when the cuttoff is, but I'll start where I started posting when I got up this am, and that was about 12920, I am now pushing 80 posts for the day....and while I am pretty sure I will get one cent per post, thats what I plan on, I usually get 1-2 cents, 2 days ago, I got 2-3 cents per post....so I vary with my earnings, I think 2 cents is a good average for me.....
but I don't worry about the earnings as much, they fall into place, I'm more focused on discussions, friends, and chasing the top user spot according to rankings.

Ok so if you post 90 a day and then answer 90 a day or more, the earnings don't reflect your responses to your original post, right?

Several variables involved that I didn't figure such as best response, the amount of responses or if the reader gave the writer a plus or minus for the discussion. It's really hard to figure but that's about as close as I could get. Thanks for responding. | |
